Best day in Shimizu - Last stop on the cruise is Shimizu. After picking up the rental car and our guide, I drove on the left side of the street. Interestingly enough it was pretty easy. Our first stop was at the strawberry fields then to visit one of the last Samurai’s resting place in Shizuoka Negoya. We then went to Kusanogi for a view of the bay and Mt. Fuji. It was cloudy which didn’t lend itself for that amazing view but it was still beautiful. Cherry blossoms were beginning to blossom and as we drove through the countryside, the wild cherry trees blooming were absolutely breathtaking. Didn’t capture those pictures but hopefully they remain in my memory bank. We then headed to the countryside visited Moriuchi Tea Farm where we were introduced to multiple types of teas. It was a great day. Acchan my tour guide was excellent. She planed the entire day and her knowledge of history and geography was spot on. Acchan is super nice and very flexible and kept be abreast prior to meeting up. I had an amazing time.

Mt Fuji Covered By Clouds But Our Guide Grace Excelled - We enjoyed our time with Grace touring the temples and sacred places of Shimizu. Although Mt. Fuji was covered in clouds, Grace's tour made up for that. The cultural and historical context was very interesting and a great way to learn about Japanese history. It was also nice to spend time with her, have lunch with her, and learn about some Japanese culinary traditions. We recommend Grace to anyone needing a local guide in Shimizu.

Perfect day in Shimizu - Acchan our guide was very well versed in Japanese geography and history. We visited strawberry fields and tasted the delicious strawberries. Then to visit one of the last Samurai’s resting place in Shizuoka Negoya. We then headed to the countryside and visited Moriuchi Tea Farm highlight of my day where we were introduced to multiple types of teas. Had a great education on how teas are grown and tasted a variety. Had a tour of the farm and it was absolutely breathtaking. I am thankful to our guide Acchan for making great recommendations. She was super nice and knowledgeable. I definitely give her 5 stars

Shizuoka/Shimizu Mt. Fuji Tour With Terry - We had the best day with Terry! He was an amazing tour guide who was so passionate and knowledgeable about the city of Shizuoka. He taught us a lot about the area and Japanese history. He even had local Japanese tourists asking him questions about the shrine we visited. The best part of our day with him was lunch. He had recommended and set up a reservation for us at a hidden-gem of a tuna/sushi restaurant. It was so delicious and some of the best fish we had on our trip. We went to a variety of places including multiple view points of Mt. Fuji, an ancient shrine, a castle, a tea garden, and an observatory room in a govt. building. I would highly recommend this tour with Terry to all of my friends and family. Next time I come to Japan I definitely want to spend more time in Shizuoka because it was that great!
