Best local company - The best trekking company based in Kathmandu Nepal. I just finished my Everest Base Camp Trek which was arranged by Eco Holidays. They provided the best Guide Susil who was so helpful and active. He managed everything for my accommodation, food and necessary things. The company provided a warm sleeping bag and down jacket which was really helpful. Highly recommend team and Company.

Sagar is the best guide. - In April the climb began in the Himalayas, Sagar was our guide. I was very nervous about the suspension bridges but Sagar's professionalism and kindness made those crossings like going one step further. He showed concern not for arriving quickly but for arriving safely, offering me his hand and carrying my backpack to further facilitate the ascent. The difference in this experience was made by the guide for sure. Although the altitude and my body did not mixed very good and my trip had to be interrupted, I think that for those days I had the best experience thanks to the excellent guide "Sagar".

Perfect choice with best guide. - Had wonderful trek to Everest Base Camp, which was 10 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. It was bit hard but amazing. I didn't have acclimatize day in Namche that's the reason I had slightly headache when I was in Dingboche. After take care it's gone and able to did Base Camp. My guide Sushil Rai was very kind and experienced, who take care me every time. He also helped to carry may day back when I was so tired. We were so luck because during trek the weather was perfect and clearly saw the mountains. Myself enjoyed much and can recommend to everyone. I promise to all team of Eco Holidays my next big adventure will be with you guys.

Fantastic trip, well organised by Eco Holidays. Exceeded our expectations! Hard work, very rewarding and worthwhile! - Short Everest Base Camp Trekking 10 Days Drhuba and his trekking company in Kathmandu did a fantastic job at arranging all of our transport, guides and porters. The staff working for his company were very attentive (Guides Sagar, Prim, and all Porters) and could not do enough for you with organising accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner along the route, as well as having a fountain of knowledge of the mountains, culture and advice in managing negative altitude effects such as headache, appetite and sleep loss. The only criticism I have is to be aware this is exactly what it says on the tin, “a short tour”! Therefore take this into consideration. The itinerary mentions walking 5 or 6 hour days but in reality with lunch and water breaks etc these can easily turn into 7-9 hour days. Plus there are typically 1 hour evening acclimatisation hikes after dropping your day bag at your tea house for the late afternoon/early evening to prepare for gaining further altitude the next day. Day 7 in particular is important to note that getting from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar in the morning and then down to Pangboche in the one day is a significant effort allowing little sleep the night before having already been to Everest Base Camp on Day 6. Therefore, consider this in mind, as I would recommend adding an additional day to the tour through Drhuba and his company making it an 11 day trek in total instead of 10 days if you have the time available on your trip. If you don’t have time to add a day to this trek, ensure you are fit enough to achieve this level of walking before turning up. Your guides are flexible and can tailor / tweak the route as you go depending on your acclimatisation and general well being throughout the trek. Other than that, fantastic experience and ideal for anyone who can’t take more than two weeks off work. I completely recommend this tour to anyone thinking of it. We went out for a celebration meal following the trek in Kathmandu with Drhuba who came across as genuine and friendly. The Nepalese people are some of the nicest and strongest people I have ever met! Kurtis Gamble (November 2022)

Trek to Everest Base Camp - May 2023 - I found the Eco Holidays Nepal company on TripAdvisor. This review is a summary of my experience during my hike to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) and about my experience with the company itself. Two positive things came out of this experience. One, I got to complete my goal of reaching the EBC and two, that I met two incredible people, my guide Sagar and our porter Gyanu. The stars are based on my experience with the company. If I were reviewing the guide or the porter, I would give five stars. The hike to EBC: My wife and I started the hike in Luckla and the two most important people during the whole hike were our guide Sagar (sagarghising at rocketmail dot com) and our porter Gyanu. From the moment we met Sagar at the Kathmandu airport when we arrived in Nepal, he made us feel welcome. During the hike he kept us safe, fed and even helped us carry our backpacks when the ascends got very tough. He is compassionate, helpful, always pointing at the beautiful landscape during the hike to make sure we get some good pictures, and an excellent guide. I will be forever thankful to him and our porter for all their help during the trek and would recommend our guide with no hesitation. He can arrange hotels, treks, permits, etc. and save people money. A couple of days into the hike my wife started feeling sick. Her oxygen level was low, and we decided it was better for her to get back to Kathmandu because the hike was only going to get tougher. The owner of the company helped arranged a helicopter to evacuate her and helped her get situated in Kathmandu. That was very much appreciated. Once in Kathmandu, my wife wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want to stay in the city alone and changed her flight back to the US. This whole thing cost me a lot of money and I’m still dealing with the travel insurance to see if I could recover some of it. I continued to the EBC. The landscape was beautiful. It was very hard, but a one in a lifetime experience. My experience with the company: Based on reviews, in July 2022, I contacted the company to gather information about the trek to the EBC and the owner (Mr. Dharel) was quick to reply to my questions. I mentioned to him we are from Florida and even though we are active and healthy, we're not hikers or trekkers. I asked if being from sea level and having little hiking experience would be an issue. He said "no, you'll be ok". We decided to book with them and paid a deposit. Months went by and in the meantime my wife and I did some hiking in the mountains of North Carolina, thinking this would help. A couple of months before our trip I wrote the owner to ask some questions, and he took one week to reply. Two weeks before the trip I wrote again to ask for any last-minute suggestions before our trip. It took over a week to get a reply. I felt the communication was great at the beginning, but later in the process it became unacceptable and a little frustrating. At one point when I didn't hear back from him for days, I was thinking I lost the deposit and need to find another company because our flights were booked. After knowing we're coming from sea level elevation and with no hiking experience, he failed to tell us the hike will be very tough and that some special physical preparation may be needed. Had we known that, my wife wouldn't have to be evacuated by helicopter, or we could have looked for other options to get to the EBC, like a helicopter tour, or simply cancel this plan. I feel he never said that not to lose the business. I do blame myself for not doing more research, but after spending thousands of dollars and hiring a company with many years of experience, as they claimed, I felt we could rely on them, but it was a mistake. Having the right information is key to make an educated decision. Every responsible company has the obligation of keeping good communication channels with their customers, of being transparent and reveling the good the bad and the ugly, even if that means losing a customer and I feel it didn't happen this time.
