Madara Rider - The first destination of the day is the Madara Horseman. This monument was acknowledged by UNESCO as part of the world’s historical heritage in 1976. This remarkable engraving is carved directly into the cliffs, approximately 25-30 meters above the path. The area features several caves and ancient sanctuaries from various historical periods. At the top of the cliffs, remnants of a medieval fortress can be found. The path to the top is quite challenging and takes about a 30-minute walk to reach the fortress. The views, however, are absolutely breathtaking. The total walking time, including a visit to the fortress, is 2 hours.

Pliska National Historical Archaeological Reserve - The old town of Pliska, where visitors can explore the remains of the first capital of the First Bulgarian State and the ruins of the Great Basilica of Pliska, built in 870 AD – one of the largest Christian temples in Europe at that time. Visitors will learn about the history of the First Bulgarian State.
