Back country bike tour off the beaten track - Small group and charming countryside despite a very rainy day. Very informative and jovial lead guide, with both guides having a high regard for the road safety of all participants.

Back alleys of Chiang Mai city, magnificent Lampung temple and riverside greenery. Great fun. - Chiang Mai's crowded streets and car exhaust make google Maps useless for enjoying a bike ride. Discova tours, aka Grasshopper tours, can serve you up with a great bike and gear and lead you through the shaded, back streets of the city. Leaders will guide road crossings and get you to the CM station for the short train ride to Lamphun. There, you can see Wat Hari Punchai, one of the oldest and most historic temples in the north. After that, cruise along a Greenway next to the river, enjoy a great lunch and head to the ban Sawai handicraft shade and prepare for the last leg. Our leader, James, shares some of the remarkable history of the Lanna, Siam, and other cultures predating the unified Thai state. If it's too hot, the tour can be shortened an hour or so, and the vehicle will come and take you and the bikes back to the Discova office. There is a lovely, shaded park like space there where you can enjoy a drink or food, and possibly plan your next adventure.

You must do this trip! - I really recommend this trip, the best way to see the countryside around Chiang Mai and experience the local culture and food. Ai was our guide and was so attentive, careful and knowledgeable, making the whole trip a joy. I had been a bit worried about the heat but we had lots of stops and plenty of water and drink refills so it wasn’t a problem at all. Thank you for a truly memorable day!

Great day in Sukhothai - This was a great excursion. The bicycles were fun. The lunch was delicious. But mostly our guide, Meow, and her crew did everything they could to make us comfortable. They had plenty of water, snacks and cool towels for us. Being a local, Meow knew so much about ancient Sukhothai as well as modern life (and where to find shade on a hot day).. She answered all our questions and gave great explanations. Thank you Meow.

Countryside Bike Tour from Chiang Mai - Riding through fields and country lanes, between mango and longan orchards, and in Chiang Mai alleys, our guide had safe and interesting biking routes all day. Excellent pace and nice food and snack stops. Thanks for a great day!

You’ll relax but you won’t rest! - I was lucky enough to be the only person on my tour with Farm, an excellent guide. He told me a lot about the region, and pointed out plenty of birds and livestock for me when I told him I liked animals. This is not a tour for someone who isn’t fit; 55km is a long cycle, and it’s not easy, comfortable roads. However the areas are mostly so quiet and tranquil, that even though you’re really getting a work out it’s peaceful too! Stopping at a few temples and learning more about Buddhism was an added bonus. Please note that about 1/4 of the ride is on city streets and while it’s not Bangkok you should still be confident about riding around traffic. I never felt in danger though, and Farm had great communication all day.

Best way to see the countryside - Great tour of the countryside. After getting out of Chiang Mai traffic is sparse across farm roads concrete and gravel. It was also nice to see temples and markets that are not frequented by tourists to get closer look into Thai culture. Our host took care of us with plenty of food and water to endure the steady ride.

A Dan way to learn more about Thailand, Chiang Mai culture and history. - We onn no LT wished the cycling was a little more intense.. comfortable pace for even a beginner. Tour guide was informative and friendly. We had lots of interesting facts about the temples and sites we visited. We had a great day for two 16yo’s in Chiang Mai. Well worth it !!
