- Sibiel - After a 2-hour car ride, just before reaching Sibiu, you’ll stop in the charming countryside of Marginimea Sibiului. The guide will share insights about the area’s unique cultural melting pot. This micro-region, comprising fewer than 20 small settlements, has developed a distinctive architectural, religious, and ethnographic heritage over the centuries. You’ll have the chance to take a discovery walk and visit an unusual peasant museum featuring naïve icons painted on glass.
- Cristian - As you get closer to Sibiu, but still within Marginimea Sibiului, you’ll stop at another village to admire one of Transylvania’s approximately 200 fortified medieval churches. Built by Saxon communities, these churches vary in size, structure, and appearance. You’ll learn about the reasons behind their construction.
- Medieval city of Sibiu - Explore the four fortifications of the old town. Discover the legends behind the name of the Liar’s Bridge. Stroll through the three main Medieval squares and pick your favorite. Climb the Evangelical Church tower for the best view of the city and the legendary Carpathian Mountains.
