A great day in Tuscany! Great wine and people!! - I visited this beautiful vineyard with my wife! It was a top highlight of our 3 week visit in Italy! The owner and his family could not have been more friendly. I definitely take for granted all they have to fight to make wine and olive oil, from the weather, soil, fungus, bugs and government. The property could be a movie set. The lunch we had was 5 stars. It was a private lunch and tasting with the owner explaining the wines and olive oil. More food and wine that we could consume. There was no pressure to purchase wine, but we bought a case and will buy more!! Love it!! Do this experience!!

A fantastic afternoon even in the rain! - Maia was fantastic…entertaining and educational. We learned so much while enjoying many aspects of the winery, such a blend of science, art and humanity. Great company too with our new friends from Whitehorse and Paris! Thank you

Delightful experience - We had a wonderful experience with Maya. We have done many wine tastings in the past but nobody has ever been as passionate and in love with her work. Maya explores the wine making challenges being an organic vineyard. does than Maya.
The food served during the wine tasting was also delicious. It is well worth the short trip from the city to experience a great event.

AWE-INSPIRING personal wine tour experience!!! - This tour was perfection!!!! I know that this review is quite lengthy, but I personally rely heavily on reviews, so I wanted to share our personal experience because we would have missed out on an incredible experience and memory had we not booked this tour.
Very short taxi ride from Siena. Upon arrival, we walked through an arched brick entrance into the prettiest courtyard with a wishing well and potted citrus trees. The fragrance from the blooms smelled amazing. My husband and I were then greeted by the owners, Renato and Nadia. Renato walked us over to his vineyard where he introduced us to the stunning rows of Sangiovese grapes and gave us a detailed overview of the process of organic winegrowing. We were in awe of how much attention and awareness goes into it. We gained a new appreciation for organic growing. It was extremely interesting!
We then took a leisurely walk over to his olive tree grove. While strolling through really old trees, Renato pointed out clusters of newly growing olives and shared his knowledge from the pruning of the trees to the processing of the oil. This too was so interesting!
We were blessed to have a sunny day and blue skies with perfect temperature to relish the nature and this experience. The walk through this picturesque vineyard was such a relaxed and personal experience that allowed us the opportunity to have one on one conversation. Renato is so informative and was more than happy to answer any questions that we had.
Next, we walked over to the wine cellar where we were able to see his beautiful two-toned oak barrels and learn more about the aging process and various influences that affect the taste of the wine. We definitely learned so much more from Renato than any other wine tour that we had experienced. So very informative and interesting!
This was followed by the start of our wine tasting in their beautifully decorated wine tasting room. The wine was fantastic! After being poured and able to savor several different wines from Renato, lunch began. And what an experience that was! Nadia and the chef (so very nice & I can kick myself because I can't remember her name) prepared a true culinary experience for us!!! Renato would pour wine ant the beginning of each course that complimented the food being served and we would have casual conversation about our opinion of the paired tasting. He would then step out to let us enjoy the course and time alone. The food was seriously some of the best food that we have ever eaten! Not to mention, the presentation was outstanding! Everything was simply perfection!!!
This day was my husband's birthday and at a moment's notice, they made it so special!! Dessert was a delicious chocolate cake dusted with cocoa on a plate sprinkled with confectioners sugar and garnished with a fresh sliced strawberry. My husband's plate was also decorated with fresh, bright purple lavender. As they entered the room with a burning candle on his cake, they began singing happy birthday to him. He was beyond surprised! So very appreciative to the sommelier (again, upset because I can't remember his name) who secretly arranged this for me. I ran into him on my way to the restroom and was able to let him know about the birthday. He was more than eager to put together a little something special. This was truly the icing on the cake to an already very special day!!
If you want to experience a personal, relaxed, welcoming and very informative wine tour in a beautiful vineyard with truly the most kind and hospitable people you will ever meet, then this is definitely the place for you!!!!
Very special thanks to Renato, Nadia, and everyone at Azienda Agricola La Lastra for the wonderful experience and memory that we will forever cherish!!!

Amazing experience - We stayed at the La Lastra company, located among the picturesque Tuscan hills, the atmosphere was enchanting.
The wines tasted were authentic oenological jewels, which reflected the unique character of the territory and the skill of the producers.
The owner's presentation was impeccable, with detailed explanations on the grape varieties, production techniques and recommended food pairings.
Having a restaurant in Rome we really appreciated the availability and kindness of the owners.
Ultimately, the wine tasting near Siena was a journey through the culture and winemaking passion of Tuscany, leaving us with precious memories and the desire to return soon.
