Pidurangala Temple has been offered to Buddhist monks in the ancient time. Climbing to the Pidurangala rock is more strenuous than climbing Sigiriya.

Upon your departure from a hotel in Sigiriya or Dambulla, post-breakfast, we’ll escort you to Pidurangala located in Sigiriya, just in time for sunrise. When you summit, you’re rewarded with a panoramic view of the entire Sigiriya and a perfect spot for witnessing the sunrise as well as getting an eyeful of Sigiriya Rock. Even though the sun doesn’t emerge exactly above the Sigiriya Rock, it illuminates the valley exquisitely. Post-lunch, a quick visit to Hiriwadunna village ensues, it’s a place populated more by trees than humans. Here, you can indulge in an invigorating trek across natural paths, embark on a catamaran boat ride, and experience a bullock cart ride. In addition, you’ll be able to feast your eyes on distant views of Sigiriya. On reaching the shore, you’ll be welcomed into a villager’s home, where an authentic Sri Lankan meal will be prepared, using freshly harvested produce.
