Dambulla Cave Temple - The Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a World Heritage Site located in the central part of Sri Lanka. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in the country.
Polonnaruwa - Dambulla
Polonnaruwa - In the morning, visit the historical site of Polonnaruwa to see the most iconic attractions of Sri Lanka’s second most ancient kingdom, such as the Parakrama Samudra irrigation system and the statue of King Parakramabahu. Explore the royal palace, see the remains of the Kumara Pokuna marble pond, and more.
Minneriya National Park - After lunch, you will be driven to Minneriya National Park for a three-hour jeep safari. You will see large herds of wild elephants there!

Dambulla - Kandy
Regent Spice Garden - En route, visit a spice and herbal garden and enjoy a 10-minute head massage.
Oak Ray Handcrafted Wood Carvings - Visit a wood carving factory.
Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - In the evening, attend a traditional Kandy dance show.
Peradeniya - Kandy
Royal Botanical Gardens - After breakfast, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - After visiting the Botanical Garden, proceed to Kandy to visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Check in to your hostel afterward.
Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya - Proceed to Nuwara Eliya through Ramboda Pass, enjoying the beautiful scenery at 6,128 feet above sea level. Stop at the Ramboda waterfall (329 feet). Afterward, visit a tea factory before continuing to Nuwara Eliya. Known as the “city on the plain” or “city of light,” Nuwara Eliya is a town in the central highlands of Sri Lanka with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 meters and is a significant location for tea production in Sri Lanka. The town is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Explore the city before heading to your hostel in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya - Ella
Ella - After breakfast, head to the Nanu Oya rail station to take the train to Ella, a charming small town on the southern edge of Sri Lanka’s Hill Country. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, with vegetable plots in the valleys, tea plantations on the hills, and forests on the hilltops, Ella offers picturesque scenery.
Nine Arches Bridge - Visit the Nine Arch Bridge in Ella, located on the Demodara loop. The bridge spans 91 meters and stands 24 meters high. The nine arches make it a very scenic spot, especially as it is set in a dense jungle and agricultural area. Behind the railway, a forest thrives, and below, tea leaves are cultivated. Stay overnight in an Ella hostel.
Ella - Mirissa
Rawana Falls - After breakfast, drive to the Ella waterfalls, a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. The waterfall, approximately 25 meters (82 feet) high, cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. After visiting the waterfalls, proceed to Mirissa.
Mirissa Beach - Head to your hotel in Mirissa for a relaxing overnight stay at a Mirissa hostel.
Mirissa
Whale Watching in Mirissa - Early in the morning, around 5 am, pick up from the hostel. Board the Whale Safari boat at Mirissa harbor at 6 am for a four-hour tour (duration depends on whale sightings and passenger preferences). After returning to shore, enjoy a delicious lunch at a beach restaurant. After lunch, take a walk on the beach.
Mirissa - Galle
Galle Fort - After breakfast, proceed to Galle, the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in South and Southeast Asia, showcasing the interaction between European architectural styles and South Asian traditions. The Galle Fort is a World Heritage Site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. In Galle, visit the Dutch Fort, the Galle Museum, an old Dutch church, and the British church.
Hikkaduwa Beach - After visiting Galle, see the traditional stick fishermen in Hikkaduwa, a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka. You can take a glass-bottom boat to view the corals or go snorkeling. Afterward, proceed to your hostel in Galle.
Galle - Colombo
Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - After breakfast, proceed to Colombo. En route, visit the Madu River in Balapitiya for a boat ride. This one-hour tour takes you through the mangrove marshes of the Madu River, with opportunities to see crocodiles, water snakes, tree snakes, and wild boars in their natural habitat. Observe various bird species hunting for prey and see prawn and shrimp traps in the shallower areas. Visit an old Buddhist temple on one of the river’s islands and another island known for its cinnamon industry. Purchase fresh, high-quality cinnamon as a souvenir. Visit an outdoor fish massage parlor for a unique experience (ticket required).
Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project - Visit a turtle hatchery in Kosgoda, where endangered turtles are bred and cared for. See newborn turtles and participate in releasing them into the sea. You will be taken to your hostel in Colombo.

Colombo - Explore the many influences of Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, and see all the major highlights of this multicultural city. Enjoy a drive around the city to see landmarks, cultural sites, historical buildings, and more. Attractions include Galle Face Green, the Dutch Hospital, Old Parliament Building, the Lighthouse, Colombo Harbour, the Slave Island area, the oldest kovil (Hindu temple), Sri Kailawasanathar Swami Devasthanam (dedicated to the gods Shiva and Ganesh), Gangarama Temple, an ayurvedic herbal and spice place, the War Memorial, Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Viharamahadevi Park, Town Hall, the racecourse shopping area, Independence Square, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, and many more. Make sure to do some serious shopping before leaving if your budget allows. Shop at local creative stores.
Colombo - Airport
