Hike Description:
Enjoy a guided 5.5km(2.5-3.0hr) hike a top the Niagara Escarpment starting with an apple tree lined trail before entering into a denser moss/fern covered forest on route to the keyhole (1m high arch) entrance into the spectacular Nottawasaga Bluffs caves.

After exploring the main caves you will be treated to an epic lookout, a great spot to take a break.

Then we will explore the Best caves (long narrow crevices) and for those comfortable with a steep descend and an enclosed cave we will explore Freedom Rock (an outcropping that broke off from the Escarpment) and the Tomb (small adjacent cave), both have a series of aphorisms carved into the rock by an unknown 19th century liberal.

What to bring:
Water, snacks, appropriate clothing, and closed toe shoes are required.

Nottawasaga Bluffs Caves tour vs. the Singhampton Caves tour:
The Singhampton caves are all open, have taller walls making them more grandeur. The Nottawasaga Bluffs main caves are less numerous, but side caves offer more closed/underground discovery options and a larger lookout point.

Our hikes are private, you will NOT be paired up with other hikers.

Minimum 2 person for this tour.

What makes this tour unique is that your guide will customize your experience based on your interests. All guests will experience the same 2.5km trail into the Singhampton Caves and the incredible walk through the caves. However, your guide will work with you to customize your return route, giving you the ability to “choose your own adventure” on your way back. There are four different trail options, varying in length from 2.0km to 3.5km. Some offering more beautiful lookouts, others more cave and crevice exploration opportunities.

After working up an appetite on your hike we encourage you to try one of our local establishments such Giffen’s Country Market in Glen Huron or one of the numerous cafes for a warm beverage in Creemore.

Excellent - We took our 5 children ages 5-12 and they totally loved the cool crevices. Great to have a guide, that way we never missed anything. Our guide also informed us about the history.

Excellent experience, guide, and tour with Sue! - Sue was an amazing guide through Nottawasaga caves. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows all sorts of out-of-the way spots. She has been a local in this area for many years and knows the trails/caves inside and out. She is also very knowledgeable on the ins, outs, do's, and don'ts of hiking/camping for those just starting out. I would suggest booking a trip with Sue if you're looking for someone cool who can show you the ropes, and a few spots you wouldn't usually see without an expert on hand!

Nottawasaga Bluffs - We had a fabulous time with Sue out on the trails! She is knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable with your abilities. We had so much fun exploring lesser known areas of the trail and expansive caves in the area. We got to see some really cool markings and hear some of the history! She was well prepared with headlamps and crampons for all. We look forward to booking with her again!

Great hike exploring caves! - This was an awesome hike and Sue made it such a great experience! Sue arrived early to check out the track conditions before we got there and had gear such as crampons packed so that we could be fully prepared for the hike. We had a lot of fun exploring the area and going into caves/crevasses that we never would have known existed had we gone alone. Thanks Sue for showing us around!

Super cool caves - It was a great hike. Challenging enough for my family but nothing we couldn’t handle. The kids had a lot of questions. It was beautiful and different than other caves we’ve been to in the past. We hope to go again with a picnic for the lookout ! We enjoyed looking at the engravings on the rocks and trying to imagine who would have been there before us a long time ago. Thanks for a great experience !

Exciting family hike to the lookout and caves - What a great family hike ! It was a perfect distance for our family. The views from the lookout are amazing and the caves were very fun and interesting. Sue brought headlamps which we needed in some of the caves. Sue is a great guide she is really passionate about the history and geology in this area. She’s great to be around and kept us all safe as we climbed and crawled ! My kids are excited to go with her again! As am I!
