• Simpsons Gap - Join award-winning tour guide and artist Anna Dakin in this engaging workshop where participants will explore the fundamentals of watercolor painting. The workshop includes a variety of dynamic exercises tailored to all skill levels, from novice to advanced.

Experience the vibrant reds of Simpsons Gap’s rock walls as they intensify with the setting sun, listen to the harmonious birdsong from the river red gum trees, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of this unique location, a significant spiritual site for the Arrernte Aboriginal community.

During the brief walk into Simpsons Gap, Anna will highlight the area’s flora, fauna, and notable landscape features. Participants will select specific elements to focus on during the watercolor painting session, such as river red gum trees, rock formations, and, with some luck, Rock Wallabies.

The watercolor painting workshop begins with an introduction to the medium, followed by quick drawing and painting exercises, culminating in a longer, freeform painting session where participants can apply their newfound skills to create a masterpiece they can be proud of.

This class is ideal for both beginners and those with painting experience. All painting materials are provided, and transportation to and from Alice Springs is included.

This evening adventure is located just 18 kilometers from Alice Springs at Simpsons Gap, a natural marvel that bursts with color as the sun sets, making it an ideal location for watercolor painting! In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting through a series of exercises aimed at helping them relax and enjoy the process.

Whether participants prefer standing, sitting, or lying down, Anna will provide all the materials and setups needed for full immersion, along with a bushfoods platter crafted by Indigenous business leader and founder of Kungkas Can Cook, Rayleen Brown.
