Enjoyed the Carpathian Mountains with a guide - We were in Romania on a mission trip and wanted to see some sights as well. We didn't have a vehicle and wouldn't have wanted to drive in Bucharest if we did, so the opportunity to see the Carpathian Mountains with a guide was attractive to us. It was foggy day with a light mist of rain as well so that was disappointing but it was still neat to see. We were pleasantly surprised to see the sun shining in a blue sky when we got to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the scenery around Bolboci Lake and visiting Ialomita Cave. Our guide was very informative and very good at navigating the twists and turns of the road up the mountain. Our only negative was that we felt rushed. We would have liked to spend more time wandering around. We realize that the trip back and forth from there to Bucharest was long and daylight was short so we appreciated his willingness for us to see everything that we could. We also enjoyed eating at Restaurant Vanatoresc in Sinaia and seeing the Peles and Pelisor Castles.
