Peles Castle became a museum in 1953 and is one of Romania’s most frequented tourist attractions, attracting over 300,000 visitors yearly who are drawn to this unique location in the Carpathian Mountains.
The castle comprises 170 rooms and 30 bathrooms, yet only a 35% portion of the castle is open for tours. Moreover, the castle’s royal library houses exquisite books with golden letter-engraved covers that never fail to fascinate tourists, particularly the hidden door concealed behind a shelf.
