- Peles Castle - Our first destination will be Peles Castle, situated in the picturesque mountain resort of Sinaia. This magnificent castle was constructed in the late 19th century as a summer residence for the Romanian royal family and is considered one of the most beautiful and well-preserved castles in Europe.
I highly recommend visiting all three levels of the castle, including the ground floor, the royal apartments, and the guest apartments, despite what other tour companies may offer. With me, you will have the opportunity to see the entire castle. It is highly recommended to choose the ticket that grants access to all three levels of the castle. During your visit, you will discover the castle’s opulent rooms, including the grand reception hall, the royal bedrooms, the ladies-in-waiting apartments, and the exquisite art and sculpture galleries.
- Manastirea Sinaia - OPTIONAL (free): After visiting Peles Castle we will stop at Sinaia Monastery. It was founded by Prince Mihail Cantacuzino in 1695 and named after the great Saint Catherine’s Monastery on Mount Sinai in Egypt. The monastery consists of two courtyards surrounded by low buildings. In the center of each courtyard, a small church is built in the Byzantine style. One of them, “Biserica Veche” (The Old Church), dates back to 1695, while the more recent “Biserica Mare” (The Great Church) was built in 1846
- Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - After visiting the Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle, we will embark on an unforgettable journey through history at Bran Castle, famously known as Dracula’s Castle. This immersive tour will transport you to the world of Vlad the Impaler, the enigmatic medieval ruler.
As we explore the castle, you will uncover fascinating facts and legends surrounding its rich history. Discover the eerie chambers, unravel the secrets hidden within its labyrinthine passages, and immerse yourself in the captivating tales of Vlad the Impaler.
After our exploration, I would be delighted to recommend my father’s restaurant, which is situated in a remote location near the forest. It is a traditional restaurant and is considered the best in Rasnov. Here, you can savor the flavors of Romania while reflecting on the intriguing stories we’ve uncovered. Alternatively, feel free to ask me more about what interests you about Romania.
- Rasnov Citadel: Garden and Panoramic View - After lunch, I’ll drive you straight to the gate of Rasnov Fortress, so you will not have to walk or take the tractor uphill like everyone else, this service is available just with me. While the fortress itself is CLOSED FOR RESTORATION, we will explore the fortress garden.
Delve into the rich heritage of the region as we uncover fascinating facts about the Transylvanian Saxons and their contributions to the local culture. Learn fascinating facts about the fortress’s strategic importance from tales of medieval sieges to the resilient spirit of the people.
As your experienced tour guide, with five years of expertise at this majestic fortress (I worked there between 2011 and 2016), rest assured that you will receive unparalleled insights and a comprehensive understanding of this magnificent fortress.
