A Great Trip - We met at the Hilton Garden Inn in Old Town for our 8.00am pick up and were met by our guide Nicoletta. We were in a minibus seating around 20 people, so a decent size for a tour. Nicoletta gave us some information about Bucharest on our two hour journey to our first destination Peles Castle, I wont lie I caught up on my sleep a little bit during this journey, which was welcome. Our first stop is Peles castle and the real highlight of the trip a beautiful castle inside and out with some great views out over the vast surrounding forests. If you are here and the weather conditions were as good as we had you will have some fantastic photo opportunities with a clear blue sky showing the castle in front of snow topped mountains. Inside it does get a bit crowded with it being a popular place for group tours but its well worth it with rooms laid out as they would have been during its 150 year history. Definitely a good place to visit on its own let alone on a tour like this. An hour down the road and we are at our second stop Brasov, we didn't do a lot here, we walked around the little Christmas market and looked around the Black Church, which is worth it for the name alone. Thirty minutes down the road and we are at Bran Castle, calling it Draculas Castle is a bit sketchy but there is a link. This over 600 year old castle has a fantastic look from the outside and the sweeping walk upto it also adds to the experience. Inside its a lot smaller than Peles castle but the rooms have character and are presented as best they can with props and some video presentations. We then had a three hour journey back to look at the scenery and of course have a little sleep. A great tour taking in the region of 10 hours for a cost of around ÂŁ60 per person is a fantastic deal, if you are spending more than a couple of days in Bucharest this is a must do day trip.

A wonderful daily tour covering two castles and one medieval ancient city! - Romeo, our guide is very knowledgeable and friendly and his sense of humor made this trip extremely pleasant. Peter, our driver is safe and fast. A very good tour, indeed.

Overall very interesting - Most enjoyable tour with Serban our enthusiastic and informative tour guide. Peter also drove well managing the heavy traffic by finding shortcuts along the way. Peles Castle was impressive and Serban took the tour inside providing information that he is obviously passionate about in an interesting way. Nice to have lunch in the pretty town of Brasov. Bran Castle was also interesting in a different way. Just be aware the day is long, the traffic heavy and there are few toilet stops.

A Memorable Tour - Our guide, Romeo was amiable, engaging and knowledgeable and our driver, Peter was top notch! This was a great time of year to see the countryside and we enjoyed the itinerary, although it would have been even better if Peles Castle had been opened. Bran castle was interesting and Brasov was a pleasant surprise! Would recommend Romeo reduce the amount of talking during the bus ride and refrain from telling jokes that were, at times, off putting.

Day tour out of Bucharest - Great day tour out of the city. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Brans castle was stunning but a little gimmicky on the Dracula theme.. BraĹźov was great would have loved a bit more time to explore but it was already a long day to fit it all in + traffic back to the city

Not great! - The sights were fabulous but the guide was not. The driver was wonderfully patient with all of the traffic during the long day. The guide did not connect with the group and I’ve had better audio commentary in a museum. It was like he was reading from his phone the whole time. Very monotone and uninteresting.

DRACULA’S CASTLE NIGHTMARE - Even without visiting the Dracula castle, this tour was a nightmare for us. We followed the EXACT instructions given in this tour advertisement through Viator, being ready at our selected pickup point: Grand Hotel Bucharest (former Intercontinental), Bulevardul Balcescu Nicolae 4, Bucharest – pick-up at 08:00. In reality, we were guests for four nights at the Grand Hotel Bucharest and we were ready to be picked up, waiting in the lobby since 07:45. At about 08:10, since no guide or driver showed up, we decided to call the tour operator at the published phone number. The call was answered by the tour guide himself, which told us that our pickup point was changed and the tour had already left. Rather than stopping in front of the Grand Hotel Bucharest, where there is an ample parking lot for cars, van, buses, etc. they decided to stop in a taxi stand at a very busy avenue beside the hotel – a place where parking is not even allowed for vehicles other than taxis… The worst part is that they lied by claiming that someone came to the hotel lobby looking for us. The hotel lobby at that hour had very few people around and we were the only couple sitting there… We then contacted Viator to explain the problem and tried to get into a similar tour, which we were told was no longer available for that day - and that was our last day in Bucharest! Since there were no other tour prospects, we inquired about a refund, which Viator later replied by email saying that the tour operator did not agreed to it. Disputing the credit card charges for a service not provided, seems to be the only option left to us…
