Awesome hike! - This is a brilliant hike - you walk along the border of India and Nepal and are amongst some of the tallest and most beautiful mountains in the world. Our guide Tenzi was a legend - he knows every bird and animal along the way and will help you spot some incredible creatures. We were lucky enough to see tahr, many yaks, mountain goats, a snake and many beautiful birds. Tenzi is extremely knowledgeable about all the mountains too - we will miss his chipper attitude and great one liners. The food is the best we have had hiking and the tea is endless (I had 10 cups of tea one day… A new record haha). Catherine is incredibly helpful and will answer any questions you have and make sure you have the best hiking experience. Great option if you’re a little short on time too - we modified the normal route to do it in four days and it was doable, just a long last day. All round awesome experience and company and would recommend to anyone :)

Fantastic Adventures Unlimited - Great organisation by Adventures Unlimited. Initial warmup in Darjeeling, followed by a 4-day trek in Singalila. The guide was friendly and experienced. The porters were two sympathic young men. The company even secured a clear view of Kanchenjunga during the whole trek. I would immediately go again. Fully recommend the experience with Adventures Unlimited!

Best Trekking Provider - Hands down, the best trekking provider we’ve worked with. From the beginning, the level of communication and willingness to adapt to our preferences was excellent. Catherine was very professional and instilled full confidence from the moment we heard from her. Although the weather during our trek wasn’t great, the experience was made by the guide we had, Abhishek. Incredibly knowledgable, fun and serious to attention to detail - he brewed fresh coffee every morning. Amazing. The provider and guide you work with on these treks can make or break your experience - in this case they made it. Would 100% recommend if you’re thinking about going to singalila or elsewhere in the region. Thank you.

Wonderful Singalila 4-Day Trek - Adventures Unlimited organized and executed a terrific, customized Singalila Trek experience! The biggest strength with Adventures Unlimited is the personal touch they add, making sure you get the trek that fits with your schedule and hiking level. Their Sales and Operations head, Catherine, was instantly responsive and flexible with ideas when I suggested what I was looking for--we worked together to design a 4-day itinerary. Before the trek, Catherine made sure to meet with me to go through a safety briefing and confirm that I had all the equipment needed. The next day had easy pickup from my hotel in Darjeeling, and I was handed off to my guide, Arpan. The journey took me from Dhotrey to Tonglu to Sandakphu to Phalut to Srikhola before returning via car to Darjeeling. Total 38 miles and 10,200 feet of elevation gain over 4 days. Views of Kangchenjunga were prominent for 3 days on this route, and Mount Everest was visible from Sandakphu. The scenery was lovely, and in April, there were rhododendrons in full bloom all over. I was trekking solo, and Arpan did a great job of setting/keeping good pace with my capabilities. He made good conversation, but also gave me space when I wanted to be with my own thoughts. I was very happy with his approach to the trek. All food and accommodations we taken care of, ranging from simple hotels to homestays with mostly family cooked meals. All food was good, and never needed to rely on any extra snacks. Plenty of tea along the way, and Catherine had provided coffee to me for mornings. I will note that for those looking to do this faster version of the hike, the Phalut to Srikhola segment was very difficult on my knees. I highly recommend having hiking poles (provided) as it was 4:30 of downhill hiking. Upon completion, Catherine reached out to see how the trek went and make sure that she could meet me when I got back. All of these small touches of concern really made Adventures Unlimited stand out as committed tour company. I was dropped off at my hotel and they came to me to collect borrowed equipment. I highly recommend Adventures Unlimited for your Singalila experience; they really put customers first!

4D / 3N trekking on India-Nepal border. - This was our second private trip with Adventures Unlimited. Catherine customized itinerary according to our requests and fitness level. We also met her husband Gautam before trekking, to get gears, safety briefing and…recommendation for best restaurants in town ;-) Communication with them is easy and you’ll get quick answers to your questions. During the trek, our guide Tenzy always chose best itineraries, especially to get the best point of views. Admiring Everest at sunrise is something we’ll never forget.

A perfect experience of the Singalila trek - We had many communications with Adventures Unlimited before taking this trip. Catherine was always quickly responsive, thoughtful and clear. This gave us a strong sense of security in our planning for this long-envisioned trip. We spent a few days in Darjeeling to get used to the higher altitude and Adventures Unlimited met us and gave a lot of valuable information about the trek coming up. Abishek, their main guide, showed us around town and made our stay very interesting and enjoyable. We wouldn’t have known what to do without him. The we started the Singalila trek with guide Tenzin, who lives in a town in this part of the mountains and has many years of experience guiding this trek. He is an expert in many ways: helping those with trouble breathing at high altitudes (this author) to pace and rest at intervals appropriate to avoid trouble yet get to the destination on time; pointing out birds, of which he has a great stock of knowledge; making sure all the arrangements are as comfortable as practical under the circumstances; and being an excellent hiking companion. Tenzin is one of the leaders of the guides association and we could tell because he seemed to know everyone along the route and to be by tacit consensus the one in charge whenever multiple groups converged. We were lucky with the weather. It didn’t rain and was clear enough to get good views of Makalu and Lhotse (and a little of Everest) from Sandakphu and great ones of Kachenjunga from Phalut. It could not have been better. No one wanting personalized travel in this region should consider anyone else.

Perfect Sandakphu-Phalut 6-day trekking experience with Adventures Unlimited - Due to great reviews of Adventures Unlimited we opted to let them organize a 6-day trekking to Sandakphu and on to Phalut. The communication during the month prior to the trekking in April was excellent both through email and whatsapp. Catherine made sure we would take all we need for the trekking from home, and everything else Adventures Unlimited provided, including warm sleep liners and down feather jackets. We asked for a bird- and nature-minded guide, and they arranged for just the best guisde we could wish for, Tenzi Tamang. Tenzi was very caring providing just everything you could wish for during and after a sometimes demanding trekking day: a freshly brewed coffee, a bucket of warm water for refreshing, always a tea and biscuits, and nice quality piece of cake during a strenuous hike. He went out of his way to look for birds and tried hard for Red Panda. He got me onto the much wished for Satyr Tragopan (bird). He taught us a lot about the flowering Rhodondendron species in the Singalila forest and knew everything about the mountain peaks and history of mountaineering. He always made sure the vibes were great with a fine sense of humour, and made our trekking feel completely custom made to our wishes and needs. We asked for a porter, and Solor was just the great companion you wish for with humour and taking his job seriously, caring for us all along. Important to mention is that Adventures Unlimited organizes the trekking all inclusive, meaning that all housing, food, drinks, pick up and drop off, guide fee and permits are all included in the package price. No additional costs were requested post-trip, in stark contrast to most trekking companies advertising the Sandakphu trek. The mountain views of Kangchendzonga and Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu (4 of 5 highest peaks of the world) were just the best experience! The debrief and evaluation of Adventures Unlimited owner Gautam at our homestay was very welcome and a caring experience. All in all, go with Adventures Unlimited for the very best experience with no worries at all!

Trek 2N3D - My trek to Mount Sandakphu was an unforgettable adventure, shared with three of my closest friends. The scenic trails offered panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the stunning Kanchenjunga, and each twist and turn brought new breathtaking landscapes. The weather held up nicely, adding to the enjoyment of our hike. Our camaraderie made the challenging parts of the trek more manageable and fun. This trek was not just about the physical journey but also about strengthening our bonds through shared experiences in nature’s spectacular setting

Incredible 3-day trek with stunning views of the Himalayas! - The trek was amazing, and we would 100% recommend anyone visiting Darjeeling to do it with Adventures Unlimited. We chose the 3-day trek option which was a steep climb but worth it for the views at the top - we wish we’d had time to do a longer one! Amar (our guide) was great, the food was tasty, the guest houses were nice both nights, and the forest walks were beautiful. Most of all, the views at the top were breathtaking - we saw 4 of the 5 highest peaks in the world!! Cath and Gautam are super friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make the whole experience easy and stress-free. We rented everything we needed for cheap rates, they gave us great recommendations for food/drinks in Darjeeling during our stay, and they even planned the route for our trip to Sikkim afterwards. They are a lovely family and would recommend anyone visiting Darjeeling to reach out - we’re excited to come back to do another trek at some point in the future!

Great Customized Trek, Friendly and Knowledgeable Folks - We were a group of 5 people of varying fitness levels. Had a great time with Catherine, Gautam and our guide Amar. They helped create a customized itinerary for us that allowed us to do the trek till Sandakphu and back in 4 days. Were extremely helpful and very involved - visited us in person the evening before the trek and gave a lot of info, we needed some help with coordination on the way and their responsiveness was great, sent some coffee/ cheese / cake kind of goodies for the way, and more; have a genuine passion and desire to help one have the best experience, which shows through in general Would recommend them very highly.
