Highlights
  • Adventures by Asian Detours - During the orientation, our cycling leader will outfit you with your bike and helmet and provide safety details. Then take off along easy and moderate riding routes, both paved and unpaved, that the cycling leader will choose based on the conditions of the day. We will be making stops during the experience to allow breaks and photo-taking. There is a lot to enjoy with the island’s natural environment and be immersed in the local village vibes.

One route may lead you to the island’s western half, where you can cycle to the Pekan Quarry. Perhaps visit the German Girl Shrine, and enjoy a view of the Western Straits of Johor. Or, you may journey east of Ubin to see fruit plantations near Chek Jawa and admire the nearly unspoiled beaches and coastal forests, home to native wildlife. Whatever route you take, at the end of your Ubin Bike Trail, you’ll leave with an appreciation for this tiny, lush piece of rural local life, yet still so close to the skyscrapers of downtown Singapore.

Awesome day spent! - It was a very interesting experience as I got to see various parts of ubin and many beautiful scenes of the nature. The staff was very friendly and engaging, sharing the history and the flora and fauna of ubin. Definitely would recommend it to others!!

Family friendly day - The bicycle ride with our toddler was a positive and fun experience, the tour guide educate us about the island history and lifestyle, keep us safe from the monkeys, show us some places that I have not been (despite I cycled at Ubin a few times). It's great to do as a group activity :) Complete your day with mouth-watering seafood at Seasons Live restaurant If you are up for a challenge and physically fit, you can combine kayaking and cycling as a day tour.

Highly recommended trip! - We spent the morning cycling around the island with Tom and Dennis, our knowledgeable and friendly guides. What a great choice for us - plenty of wildlife and forest trails - a nice change from the busy mainland. And to finish off, a bunch of Rambutan at a roadside stall. Thank you Tom and Dennis for a very special trip!

Very fun tour - This is a excellent tour especially in a busy city like Singapore! We were able to maximizing the site seeing at different location without the spending time to wait for tour bus parking, drop-off, pickup. Zipping between china town, little India, and there is a Turkish town here too! Our guide Jeff is excellent and he is able to adjust the riding pace so nobody got lost from the pack.

Touring Singapore’s Pula Ubin Tourist Style - With little else to do but tour Singapore we finally made it out to Pula Ubin and evening though we live in Singapore for almost 3yrs we said we would do it like a tourist. The tour company has a nice shop close to the ferry terminal. The directions on the website are super spot on. The information briefing was so so. Our guide was really informative and the 4hr tour was a pretty nice way to spend a Sunday. When you go to the mangrove area just watch out for the monkeys because they are super bold!!! Tried to take my bottle of ice tea out of my hand...not once or twice but for a good 5 min kept coming at me! The 2 main issues was that the bikes were not in good condition, it took us almost 30min to find bikes that had proper breaks and gears. Also, the price is especially for tourist! I think if you are you for a little exploring you can rent a bike and tour yourself just fine. Overall a good experience.

Pulau Ubin, my favorite spot in Singapore - The first time I went on a guided bike tour, but I probably enjoyed it more when I was just exploring by myself on a separately hired bike. Being in a group meant I could not go at my own passe, but I also found that I saw more animal by myself. There are many maps and information panels along the way so you really don't need a guide. I have also been there on foot and that was great too. Some of the areas don't allow bikes and you need to walk anyway. Most of the bikes are not well maintained and some are not quite up to the rough terrain. But it is great going down hill and cooling off. Bring plenty of water as there is no drinking water (other than bottled)

Excellent Guide with fantastic knowledge - Had a great trip with Tom around Pulau Ubin. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and kept checking in on us to see how we were doing. Only improvement is as a very tall person they could check this in advance and be prepared with big people bikes.

A leisurely but exciting way to see Pulau Ubin - Getting the ferry across from the mainland is part of the fun so don't be scared if someone starts calling you over and pushing you onto a small boat. Once on the island, it's an easy walk (couple of hundred metres) past all the other bike shops and fruit stalls. That initial walk is where you should pay close attention because it gives you a good indication of what life was like in Singapore only a few decades ago. Look how far the country has come since then! Once we had found our group (great instructions in the email the organisers sent over - definitely read through them) and there was a period of about 15 minutes whilst we each found a bike (there are plenty to choose from) and adjusted them to our own settings. Have a quick ride about to test out the bike and make sure it's comfy and then you're on the move. We were given a choice of easy or hard. We chose the easier side of the island because it was a very hot day. We had two guides, one at the front and one at the back, and they stopped as often as we needed to tell us things about the island. There was a chance to see a group of monkeys playing in the trees and sitting in the road, as well as some wild boars and their babies. Half way through the afternoon we got off the bikes and walked through the mangroves to check out the wildlife of the island. There were toilet facilities dotted along the route. After about 3 or 4 hours we were getting tired and decided that it was time to call it aday but I got the feeling we could have gone on for longer if we wanted. They were very accommodating and friendly. My only negative comments would be that the bikes were probably not as up to date as they could be (although they were comfortable), and that the guide was a bit light on info, facts, and anecdotes. I'd suggest interacting more with the clientele so that there aren't as many moments of silence.

Equipment Dangerous - I booked this trip for family. The tour guide was amazing but the equipment beyond unacceptable. After having to go back mid tour for a flat tyre on one of the bikes the other bicycles chains then snapped and my sister n law fell off her bike and has broken her ribs. We would not recommend this tour. Shame.

Don't bother....erratic service and no customer support - Dreadful on every level. You would be much better hiring a bike yourself and peddling round the well signed island. We were left abandoned for an hour as our guide was late. Other staff just sneaked out and left us without a word alone in the office so we had no idea if anyone would ever turn up. Despite calls and emails to the helpline no one picked up. We were just about to leave when our guide turned up. Bikes were grabbed from the hire shop opposite and in very poor repair. Helmet fell apart. Final straw was when we complained afterwards and were offered the chance of a cut price repeat experience with them. You couldn't write the script.
