Highlights
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - Here it’s included the entry ticket to the perimeter (15€ park and palace) so you can decide if you want to stay at the stunning gardens of the almost 200 acres of lush exotic gardens and rivers with species from all over the world or also see the palace. If you wish to pass by the fairy-tail palace from the XIX century, designed to be the lush summer home of the portuguese royalty, you have tickets included to the inside and outside of the palace! With stunning views over the valley of Sintra-Cascais, you can see all the way until the coast-line. At the palace you also have a nice caffe where you can have a bite.
  • Quinta da Regaleira - Having priority at the ticket office, we skip the line directly to the gardens of Regaleira, exotic like the Pena gardens, but with hand-made caves and tinny castles all over the place.

Just near the waterfalls we have the Free-Masonic Initiation Well from the XIX century, open to the public at day time. In here you will go down the 9 levels of Dante’s Inferno, to find the Templar Cross with the 4 elements (wind, earth, fire, water)

After the first stage, the participants would have to “wonder through the bottom of hell” until they get to “the light at the end of the tunnel” where they will find the exit and reborn again. Outside and inside you can see many symbols of the free-masonry / templar order, among them many pentagrams said to represent the face of Baphomet

  • Centro Historico de Sintra - We will drive by the Sintra’s center to the next point. If you don’t want to visit the Quinta da Regaleira Free Mason Well, you can stroll around the historical center of Sintra.
Passing by the insights of the Sintra historical center, you will see the Vila National Palace from the XV century. You also have loads of small shops selling national produts (warning: the center is going to be very crowded )

  • Cabo da Roca - The most west point of Europe!

  • Mosteiro dos Jeronimos - Jerónimos Monastery, builted in the 16th century. Inside we have Vasco da Gama`s grave. It’s a UNESCO World heritage sight and home of the famous Belem Crustard
    - Torre de Belem - The Belém Tower, first defensive point of Lisbon, from 16th century!
From here famous Portuguese navigators set off to discover new lands.
    - Fado in Chiado - Chiado and Alfama hold the ancient portuguese music called the fado, and our local guiude will tell you all the best local spots to see the shows!
    - Chiado - Chiado is full of old monuments. Here we can find the oldest bookshop operating in the world!
In Carmo square are the ruins of the Carmo Monastery, that happened in the big heartquake of 1755.
    - Castelo de S. Jorge - The ancient streets of alfama are full of magic, taking us back to the VI century when it was built. Here we have a famous cherry liqueur waiting for you!
    - Lisbon Cathedral - This amazing and magnificent XII century cathedral was done under the supervision of our first king, after he demolished the mosque that was there before
    - Praça do Comércio - We will pass by all the city center and its main squares! You will not miss nothing, from the monuments to the amazing viewpoints!

Highly Recommended Private Tour - My wife and I took a private tour with Francisco. The tour was amazing as we saw a lot.We started off in Sintra at PenaPalace and Quinta da Regaleira. Francisco's knowledge of Portuguese history made me wonder if he was a student of history. Turns out that he is just a great tour guide. He then took us to a nice restaurant for lunch (price of lunch extra). We bought his lunch for him which was a pleasure. We left the restaurant and returned by Hell's Mouth, Cascais, and Parts of LIsbon. Through the entire tour Francisco kept us up to date on the sites and history of the region. He even introduced me to ginjinha which is a cherry liquor of Portugal. The tour lasted 8 hours and was very enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour.for anybody traveling to Lisbon. If lucky enough perhaps you will get Francisco. He is the greatest.
