Highlights
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - As we mentioned in the last paragraph, Sintra is very rich in Palaces, the choice of the palace or palaces to visit is exclusively yours, the guide will give you information about all of them and together you will decide the most suitable one ( s) for you, in a wide choice from the Romantic Pena Palace, to the Morrish Castle , the Masonic Regaleira, or why not to the Portuguese Versailles the choice is exclusive yours ( entrances not include ).
  • Centro Historico de Sintra - The enchanted village of… Sintra a small village but with a great concentration of historical monuments and interesting tourist attractions, in Sintra there are more than 10 national monuments, including opulent palaces, ancient ruins and decorative palatial houses dispersed by the hills of the region, challenging walking paths.

Knowing its historical center, especially Piriquita, ( one of the attractions in Sintra ), with typical sweets that make us dream, especially on the cooler days typical of the microclimate of Sintra

  • Cabo da Roca - Cabo de Roca is the most western point in Europe, where the Earth ends and the sea begins as Luís de Camões wrote (in Os Lusíadas, Canto VIII), the Lighthouse, 165 meters high and dated 1772, here we understand the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean revealing to us one of the most emblematic places of Portugal.
  • Boca do Inferno - The “Mouth of Hell” name attributed to this place is due to the morphological analogy and to the tremendous and frightening impact of the waves there, the characteristic that makes up the rock in the cliff is of a carbonated nature.

The erosion exerted by the action of rainwater which, containing dissolved carbon dioxide, causes the carbonate to dissolve.

Through this process cavities and caves are formed inside the limestones, with a downfall of the upper layers the cave has been destroyed, leaving a large cavity in the open, this place with unique characteristics, is a place of leisure, where you can enjoy a divine landscape and magnificent sunsets, being only overshadowed by not infrequent suicides committed on its dangerous and unprotected cliff.

  • Cascais Marina - Time now to explore Cascais with a wide beach and very picturesque streets make the town a place very visited by tourists, a mixture of fishing village with a luxury resorth with many restaurants serving fresh fish.

Between the bay and the Sintra mountain range, Cascais was in the 19th century, the place chosen by the royal family for vacations that ended up dragging the nobility, in Largo de Camoes, in the historic center, are plenty of shops and restaurants.

  • Casino Estoril - The return to Lisbon will be along the coast with a panoramic of Estoril, famous for its Casino ( largest gambling room in Europe ) and by the fact of of Mr. Yan Fleming wrote the first 007 nobel “Casino Royale” during the 2nd world war here will get back to Lisbon along road “Marginal” enjoying breathtaking ocean scenery.

Additional Information

Sintra is a beloved retreat for the aristocracy in Portugal, known for its palatial estates and vibrant plant life. This invites you to join our excursion to Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril.

Discover the rich history of Portugal documented in Sintra’s grand and distinctive palaces and gardens.

For over five hundred years, the Portuguese Royals frequented their opulent mansions and extravagant estates as summer residences to savor the pristine atmospheric conditions and brisk mountain microclimate, providing relief from Lisbon’s summer heat. This has been notated by the British poet, Lord Byron, in his literature “Glorioso Éden”. To this day, Sintra remains a muse to acclaimed writers and filmmakers, who derive inspiration from its allure and wealth of tales and legends.

Our itinerary includes a stopover at the worldly village of Cascais and its charming dock filled with quaint fishing boats. You will be given leisure time to appreciate this formerly modest fishing hamlet, now a favored resort region for Lisbon residents.

Best decision we made on this trip - Rueben was an exceptional guide and ambassador for the region. His recommendations were spot on and he managed to weave us through the crowds to amazing locations including Pena Palace as well as a local restaurant that was amazing. He was a good photographer too as he took some terrific portraits of my wife and I.

A wonderful experience - Manual was a very knowledgeable guide and tailored our experience to our needs. We opted to skip the Pena palace as the lines were so long and Manual directed us to many hidden gems among palaces and gardens that were gorgeous and uncrowded! He also arranged for us to have a longer visit at the Hotel Palácio which we were very interested in for historical reasons. We saw so much and learned so much!!
