Sintra has gained popularity as a travel destination in recent years, yet some spots remain underappreciated. This tour aims to guide visitors to verdant locations where even during peak season, waiting in lines is unnecessary. Participants will have the opportunity to visit both a castle and a palace, and also explore a portion of Sintra’s coastline, which boasts numerous charming restaurants offering fresh fish and seafood. Additionally, an official local guide, fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, will accompany the group throughout the day.
- Part of the time during the tour is spent on travel time. If you are based in Lisbon, it will take about an hour to get to the Mourish Castle. From there to the historic centre is normally a short 5-10 minute drive unless there is traffic. From the Historic Centre to Monserrate Palace it is approximately 15 minutes drive. From Monserrate Palace to Cabo da Roca is approximately 20 minutes. And from Cabo da Roca back to Lisbon can take about an hour.

Chillest of the chill - Bernardo went above and beyond for me and my 79 year-old auntie! I specifically chose his tour due to the chill-nature of the experience. We were able to tailor the tour to match ability levels. Bernardo communicated days before the tour to let me know about slight changes to the exterior of Montserrate, so we were able to make an informed decision about one of the coolest stops of the tour. He was super understanding and flexible when it came to making on- the- fly changes to suit the energy needs of my auntie. I also learned so much during my tour with Bernardo. He gave in-depth history with deep knowledge on a wide variety of subjects. I know I'll be back to visit portugal and I know that I'll book another tour with Bernardo.

An unforgettable tour - We had an exceptional experience exploring Sintra with Bernardo. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy the day.
What stood out most was Bernardo’s deep knowledge of the history, culture, and hidden gems of Portugal. In Sintra, we were able to experience the magic of the palaces and landscapes without feeling rushed or overwhelmed, while in Lisbon, thanks to Bernardo’s tips (after the tour) we discovered charming neighborhoods and viewpoints we would never have found on our own.
The guide was professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive to our interests, adapting the tour to match our pace and preferences. It felt more like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend than being on a typical tour.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to make the most of their visit. It truly made our trip unforgettable.

Leisurely family tour of Sintra - Our guide Bernardo was very knowledgeable and personable. The description of the tour matched the day. We really enjoyed getting to see Sintra in a relaxed leisurely way. Sintra is a beautiful spot to see outside Lisbon. We enjoyed everything from our first stop the Moorish Castle, sweet treats in Sintra, Monserrate Palace, lunch at the beach and Cabo da Roca.

Excellent tour guide - Bernardo was a fantastic and very knowledgeable tour guide. We had the best time exploring Sintra’s amazing castles and the surrounding area. I highly recommend booking a tour with Bernardo, you won’t be disappointed.

Private tour with Bernardo is well worth it - A friend recommended Bernardo to us and we actually booked him two days in a row. Having a private tour guide was a big advantage as we could tailor our day as we wished. The day in Sintra was so magical. It was like a fairytale town come alive. Unfortunately, the Pena Palace was closed due to weather so we spent the majority of our time at Quinta da Regaleira castle and I am glad we did. The imagination of the owner to build such an elaborate grounds, gardens, tunnels and the piasta resistance, the initiation well was spectacular. Now I need to read Dante’s inferno…iykyk. Highly recommend Bernardo, very professional and knowledgeable.

Chilled day trip in Sintra with Bernardo - Booked up a chilled Sintra day trip with Bernardo and had a great experience with his excellent knowledge of the area, and the way he made everything so easy and relaxed for us! Great communication, modeling the trip around what we wanted from the experience and once it started we could just relax and let him guide us through the wonder of Sintra! Beautiful day from pick up to drop off, thanks Bernardo!
