Highlights
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - Pena Palace is a one of the best representations of 19th century Romanticism in europe. Being is the second-highest point in the Serra de Sintra (over 500m above sea level), will amaze you with its unique architecture and spectacular views. King Ferdinand II - the king-artist - fell in love with Sintra, and following the purchase of the property, decided to build a unique castle and park, with 500 plant species from all corners of the world. The palace incorporates Manueline and Moorish architectural influences, that together will give you an atmosphere of “a thousand and one nights.”. An unforgettable experience.

  • Centro Historico de Sintra - Enjoy the wonders of this beautiful medieval little town, walking the narrow streets, feel the local atmosphere and then grab a coffee and try local pastry “Travesseiro”.
You might also want to visit the National Palace of Sintra, one of the most important palaces during middle age. Several monarchs used it until the end of the Monarchy, in 1910. You will “feel” the many generations which lived in this amazing monument, particularly during the discoveries where it was where significant decisions were made to discover Africa, Brazil and sea route to India.
It presents characteristics of medieval, Gothic, Manueline, Renaissance and Romantic architecture. It has the largest collection of Mudejar tiles in Portugal.
You will have lunch during the period in the village.

  • Guincho Beach - Breathtaking views at Guincho beach, with privileged view over the westernmost point of continental Europe. After your Sintra’s visit, you will stop here to take pictures and relax.

  • Belem - Belém is one of the most beautiful areas of Lisbon. Famous for its amazing monuments that celebrate the discoveries in Europe of the 15th century, it became one of the most amazing neighborhoods - with lovely views, ideal for a nice family lunch.

  • Mosteiro dos Jeronimos - The Jeronimos monastery construction started in 1501 and took almost 100 years to be built. It is an amazing example of Portuguese late gothic - manueline architecture. Being a symbol of the Portuguese discoveries of the 16th century, and particularly the arrival of Vasco da Gama to India, it was the prayer site of departure point to the amazing adventures across the Atlantic. You will stop to take pictures and then continue to Lisbon

  • Belém Tower - Belém tower is one of the most important symbols of the discoveries of the 15th and 16th centuries in Europe. An impressive manueline fortification, with over 500 years old. Served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon.

  • Arco do Triunfo - Rua Augusta Arch is a memorial arch-like, historical building at Praça do Comércio, representing a door to Lisbon, and commemorating the city’s reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake. This was the place of several relevant historical moments. We will stop for a quick overview and continue to our last stop.

  • Lisbon Cathedral - The Lisbon Cathedral (or simply Sé de Lisboa), was built from 1147 and is the oldest church in the city. You will see an impressive example of a Roman Catholic cathedral, almost 1.000 years old. A last stop for photos, explanation and drop-off

Great experience - Nuno went beyond expectations in terms of organisation and knowledge he provided throughout the tour. He seemed to be quite passionate about what he was doing and we never felt neglected or bored. In the end we asked recommendation for a good port wine and he went out of his way and helped us out with that as well. The tour itself was good. It was just the right amount of time long and we managed to see everything we wanted and not be absolutely exhausted by the end. If someone is in doubt, don't be. It is really worth it
