Sintra day tour - The tour and guide, Luis, were amazing. There were just 2 of us. I was an all day trip and tour. Luis was so kind and attentive. Full of information and knew so much avout the area. The tour was more than worth it. Never felt rushed, had great lunch where he recommended which was not crowded, excellent food and time to enjoy ourselves. Would highly recommend this tour and hope you can get Luis. One of the highlights of our trip. Thank you.

Fantastic Private Tour of Sintra, Worth Every Penny! - The bottom line upfront: do an all-day private tour to Sintra. If you can, do so with Miguel. You won't regret it.
The tour started with an early 8am hotel pickup but that's well worth it since you have a chance to beat the immense crowds at Pena Palace. Besides, Miguel has it down to a science to (circum)navigate lines and crowds effectively. Before going to Portugal we read multiple reviews that said that if we visited Sintra, we should skip the palace as it was “boring.” That was the complete opposite of the experience we had with Miguel. We could not have found it more interesting.
We toured with our two teenage sons and all of us were totally fascinated by what Miguel shared with us throughout the day. Miguel is a huge history buff and is a veritably bottomless (initiation) well of information about the history of the buildings we visited (Pena, Moorish Castle, la Regaleira), the broader Sintra area, the artifacts we saw, and the subtle yet fascinating symbols of e.g. the Freemasons.
It also helped that Miguel was easy and pleasant to be around and that his enthusiasm for all-things-Sintra were practically oozing out of his pores. We loved his genuine enthusiasm for Sintra and his desire to learn more to elevate his craft (for instance he’s been waiting excitedly for an area to reopen after reconstruction and restoration).
We would happily go on any tour offered by Miguel/Van Go Tourism

Sintra was the highlight of our trip - This tour was worth every single penny. Simone was an amazing tour guide who gave us all the history on Sintra. She was efficient on what we needed to see and made sure we made the most of our tour. She made it fun and interesting, we really enjoyed our day there. Sintra is absolutely beautiful and everyone should see it. It was great to be with someone who knew where to go and what to see. I highly recommend this tour.

Sintra day tour - Susanna was our guide for our second tour with Van go Tours and was a perfect tour guide. She thinks of everything to make your tour as enjoyable as possible. Lots of walking and steps on this tour but Susanna knows how to break it up to keep us from tiring out. Saw Pena Palace, Moorish Castle and Quinta de Regaleira. This company is highly recommended. We had two rours with two different guides and they are extremely professional. Highly recommended.

Sintra Private Tour with Pena Palace 6/2024 - We had a wonderful day visiting Pena Palace, Sintra and the surrounding area. Simone was our tour guide and she was amazing. We had a such a fine time with her. She is very knowledgable and was very interactive with the whole group. By the end of the tour, it was like we were hanging out with a family member. She did such a great job. A little more about the tour, the areas visited were all amazing. A lot to see and a lot of history of Portugal to be learned. I would highly recommend this tour and if your lucky getting Simone as your guide.

10/10 day with Susanna in Sintra - We went on a tour of Sintra with Susanna and I couldn’t recommend it more. If you are going to Sintra (or anywhere in Portugal), go with Susanna. She is so sweet and kind, made sure we had a comfortable trip and was so passionate/knowledgable about the area. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Must experience!!! Ask for Susanna!!! - Perfect day in Sintra! Highly suggest requesting Susanna, she was an incredible guide. So knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. Gently enjoyed spending the day with her and learned and saw so much! The transportation was extremely comfortable, she always ensured we had water, and we moved at the perfect pace. She also gave us amazing resturant recommendations.

Magical private tour of all the best of Sintra - A perfect day trip from Lisbon to the beautiful town of Sintra. We enjoyed a private tour of this regional gem by our guide, Simone Silva. She was absolutely amazing. Simone was extremely knowledgeable of the history and culture of Lisbon and Porto. Her passion for what she does shined at every turn, and she was a pure pleasure to spend the day with!
Simone took us by private van from our hotel in Lisbon just 25 minutes away to the beautiful and lush town of Sintra. We toured the Moorish Castle where she gave us some background and history and where we captured the most amazing views! From there we went to Pena Palace where she again provided thorough background of Pena Palace and the significance of the grounds. Simone was extremely adept at timing our entrance into the palace so we did not have to wait in the long lines! The palace is certainly a place to visit.
After our tour Simone dropped us off in town for lunch where she recommended a great place to sit and enjoy some local cusine. We had time to tour the town's cute shops and picturesque streets. After lunch, she took us to Regialia, a magical place with lush gardens, and the mystical man-made staircase and caves. A must visit while in Sintra.
A day trip to Sintra is a must do while in Lisbon. Be prepared to do a lot of up hill walking, good exercise and well worth it. We highly recommend this tour and especially our guide Simone!
