Highlights
  • Sintra Mountains - Welcome to the stunning Serra de Sintra, a breathtaking landscape that spans the horizons of Portugal. This magnificent mountain range, situated just a few kilometers from Lisbon, is a natural and cultural gem that draws travelers from around the globe.

The Serra de Sintra, with its rugged terrain and lush greenery, provides a unique experience for visitors. Here, you will encounter a harmonious blend of vibrant nature and the rich history that infuses the region. The mountain range is a patchwork of verdant hills, scenic valleys, and fascinating rock formations that date back to ancient times.

  • Fonte da Sabuga - Fonte da Sabuga, located in São Pedro do Sul, Portugal, offers water rich in minerals such as hydrogen sulfide, calcium, and magnesium. This water is renowned for its therapeutic benefits for skin, respiratory, and muscle issues. Visitors often seek out spa treatments and therapeutic baths. It is important to follow professionals’ instructions and, if necessary, consult a doctor before using the hot springs, especially for those with pre-existing medical conditions. Fonte da Sabuga also boasts a rich history and local traditions, adding a cultural element to the visit.
  • Castelo dos Mouros - The first monument to visit is the Moorish Castle, an incredible structure dating back to the period of Islamic rule and the conquests of D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. With a superb 360º view over the Lisbon region to the sea.
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - The highlight is the Pena Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will have the opportunity to fall in love with the architecture, the view, and its unique gardens.

On the outside, it has a delicate puff pastry and on the inside, a filling with egg cream and almond, also having a secret ingredient that makes it appetizing to the mouths of the whole world.

During the Second World War, Casa Piriquita felt the need to innovate, given the difficulties experienced at that time. Constância Luísa Cunha, daughter of the founder, while reading an old recipe book, came across the Travesseiro recipe that, even today, gives fame and recognition to our House, being an ex-libris of the village of Sintra.

  • Centro Historico de Sintra - We start this trip in the heart of Sintra, the historical center of Sintra, where you can and should walk the small emblematic alleys of this romantic village. We will stop at one of the best-known cafeterias in the world, the famous Piriquita, where you will have the opportunity to taste the sweets. regional flavor.

  • Colares - Welcome to Colares, a charming village located on the outskirts of the stunning Serra de Sintra in Portugal. This picturesque town is known for its enchanting landscapes, ancient vineyards, and an atmosphere that evokes a sense of tranquility and authenticity.

Colares is famous for its wine production, particularly Colares Wine, which has a long tradition in the region. The vines, planted on sand dunes, give a unique character to the wines produced here. Traditional cellars and the opportunity to taste these wines add a special touch to the visit to this village.

The architecture of Colares is charming and preserves a traditional charm. Narrow cobblestone streets, local-style houses, and cozy squares create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The leisurely pace of village life offers a relaxing escape from urban hustles.

Tour Sintra - Leo was our Guide. He was enthusiastic and knew a lot to tell us. Our children, 12 and 14, also liked Leo. We came by car and Leo picked us up and took us everywhere with his car. This allowed us to see a lot in 1 day!

Real Local experience - The day Tour of Sintra was amazing. We started at about 11:00 and got back around 19:00. We saw all the amazing castles and Palaces and experienced local sights and attractions. Our guide Paulina was amazing and Tailored the day to our style of touring. We were tired at the end of the day after the hiking of the monuments and seeings everywhere we possibly could, it was worth every step. You do have to buy tickets for each location I recommend getting the skip the line this way you can be as efficient as possible moving around Sintra. The tour operators will help set up general times you can make it to each location so you can buy the ticket for the correct time. I would highly recommend this if you are trying to do a lot of Sintra in one day.

Our Sintra day tour - We had the best time with Leandro on our Sintra tour today! He made the tour extra special for us with his tips on the most interesting spots to see, and what order to view them in. He made sure we got to each site in a timely manor, and got prime parking. He was very knowledgeable, and gave us restaurant recommendations and even a few treats. Super friendly, and very helpful. I couldn’t have imagined a better tour guide.

The best Sintra tour - What a wonderful tour! Our guide Jorge was the best! He was punctual and organized. He was very knowledgeable about the sites and routes around Sintra. We didn’t expect rain in the morning but he was prepared to help by offering a poncho and umbrella. He never rushed us at the sites. We had a great day and I highly recommend!

Sintra has great natural beauty - Sintra is really beautiful and Paula is an amazing guide who grew up and still lives there. It was, however, very crowded on a Sunday/holiday.

Sintra Day Trip - My husband and I took a trip to Sintra whilst staying in Lisbon. Having researched a lot on the internet regarding parking etc we have some advice. We parked a 10 minute walk from the centre at the Interface car park. This car park is at one of the Sintra stations. Large car park and only cost €1:50 for 4 hrs. Station workers not helpful at all bud a bus driver was great. If you want to use the WC at the station will cost you 50cents but very clean. After a 10 minute walk into town you arrive at a second railway station where you can pick up the ‘tourist’ bus which does 2 different circuits of the palaces and castle etc but be warned these are very busy even in April but worth seeing.
