Great way to see Sitka! - Picking up the bikes right at the cruise terminal was amazing! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with tips on where to ride, places to get coffee, etc. Would highly recommend Kings Bike rentals and riding bike around Sitka. We rode 26+ miles and had plenty of battery life the whole time! This was such a great way to see the town; not battle cruise ship crowds and experience the beauty of Alaska that you won’t see (as easily) in downtown Sitka. We did ride into town, parked the bikes at the Visitor’s Center, ate lunch, did a little shopping but were soon ready to jump back on the bikes and escape the crazy of town again! Drop off was easy with just parking them back at the trailer (at the cruise terminal) and locking them up. Thanks, Kings, for great memories !

Sitka is beautiful by bike - Sitka is beautiful to explore on bikes. It was easy to find the bikes and easy to return. I would recommend this as a cruise excursion. Luckily we had amazing weather.

Fun adventure in Sitka! - Exploring Sitka by bike was such an adventure. They were very helpful to point us in the right direction and then we were on our own. It was a great way to plan your own day without shuttles. Pickup and drop off right from the dock. Bikes and equipment well maintained and easy to use.

Fantastic power ride! - We loved having the freedom to ride wherever we liked and not being on a time schedule. The bikes had plenty of power and the battery charge was still at 50-75% after 24 miles.

Be aware of risks. - Electric bikes can be very enjoyable but in this location, we found it a bit stressful. It is a very busy major road you are on when traveling out of the port. We went away from town toward some of the attractions (the Fortress of the Bear and Eagle place) There were large speeding trucks traveling past us often. It was nervewracking. Also, the instructions for riding the bikes were very limited. We had never used them before and basically were told how to turn them on and off and how to change the speed. I wish we had been told not to turn the bike on until you are on it. At the Fortress of the Bear, after seeing the bears, the parking lot was very congested so I chose to walk my bike to the exit of the lot rather than ride it. Big mistake. My bike took off without me ( motor engaged with no effort on my part) pulled me off my feet with speed and I crash-landed on top of the bike, shattering my tibia bone ( a difficult bone to break) I now have a plate and 6 screws in my knee. It's been two months and I am not walking yet. I am not telling anyone not to rent these bikes. Just heed my warning about not walking it with the motor on and be forwarned the road is not a quiet mountain view road by any means.

No good bike path. - Not the best idea in September...🤦‍♂️ The pelting rain as we rode along the busy road being blasted by cars and puddles... wasn't the greatest experience. The couple of stopping points for pictures were nice, but definitely stick to summer months on this one. (Should have taken the bus! Lol) The rain wouldn't have been an issue since we were dressed correctly, the road/bike lane was scary with busses and trucks so close.
