Great tour while in port! - There are a lot of great tours to choose from so you have your pick! We booked our “Skagway City & Mountain Summit Tour” via the website (in advance) and it was very easy to book and prepay. They have multiple tours per day so you can choose your preferred time. You can also book on the day, but they are subject to availability so it’s best to pre-book if you want a guaranteed spot… or go to the tour office early! This tour follows a similar route of the White Pass Railway Tour but for a third of the price, and you make stops along the way so it’s more immersive. We started promptly at 11:30am and our driver was friendly and informative throughout the tour. All photo stops are optional, you can stay in the van the entire time if you wish! Highlight: the walk to the Lower Reid Falls was great (a short walk through the bush). Pro: we had a lot of photo stops with enough time at each stop to take decent pictures. Tip: it gets very cold so bring a jacket or wear layers for when you get out of the van to explore/take photos! I would recommend this tour and this tour operator to anyone wanting to explore Skagway’s general area while keeping it more cost effective and more timely.

Wonderful feature-filled and varied short tour from Skagway - So glad we chose to do this instead of a White Pass & Yukon Route Railway shore tour! Not only was it roughly a third of the cost, but we saw just about everything the rail passengers would have seen, and were able to get out to enjoy scenic spots and have two walks. The walk in the clouds at the White Pass Summit was fantastic, as was our walk at the Gold Rush Cemetery and Reid Falls. We also enjoyed the magnificent view from the Skagway Lookout. Our local guide was delightful. He gave us an insight into how it is to live in the town all year, not just in the brief Summer tourist season, and was a good and patient photographer as people handed their phones and cameras to him throughout the tour. It was amazing how much sightseeing and learning was packed into a three hour trip! Highly recommend to all cruisers who want to see White Pass, learn about this town, and still have a few hours for self guided enjoyment of this fascinating town.

Great tour - Great tour guide - Great tour. Chad (driver & guide) was great - knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Lasted about 3 hrs. Drove up Skagway Hwy to White Pass and crossed over into Canada just a little. Saw how the 1890’s gold miners had to get into Canada. Those were real men. The tour was perfect for us. It really helped that the day was sunny and clear and +76F.

Delightful Excursion - A drive up the mountain pass through the mist. Interesting information on the Klondike Gold Rush and the town of Skagway. Lovely scenery. Interesting local craft shops, if you avoid the cruise ship promoted retailers.

F- - In 16 cruises we made about 60 shore excursions and the one in Skagway was without a doubt the worst. On Broadway, between 2nd and 3rd Ave, meeting place unclear. We enter a store, the seller doesn't want to understand that we already have tickets and we are looking for the meeting place, he keeps telling us to buy from him. We leave irritated and without buying an (expensive!) toy that we wanted to give as a gift. The bus arrives late and the guide (R...? as it were) is disoriented, he doesn't know which group he has. He doesn't know how to adjust the temperature in the bus. And worst of all, he has a terrible voice, he screams almost all the time and doesn't shut up even for a second! I came down with an intense headache. That's all I remember from this trip to the shore.
