Malmö-Travemünde: It can hardly get much worse. - - This is the most miserable ferry we have ever taken. Negative: - Check-in closes an hour before departure. Boarding the ferry 10 minutes after the departure time. - Despite a sign indicating that there is a disability, you are simply crammed between trucks with no way to get directly to the elevator. - Everything is rusty, old and extremely dirty. - The whole ship stinks of diesel, petrol and exhaust fumes. - When it rains, all of the outside decks are flooded more or less ankle-deep. The dog deck can only be reached with wet feet. - The dog deck can only be reached by dogs via obstacles and grid steps. - No dog will do its business in this ridiculous sandbox or on a bare ship deck. The carpeted floors in the cabins are the better alternative, as you can see and smell!! - The cabin is actually an unheated cell. Despite complaining to reception because it was only 14°C max in the cabin, no effort was made to change that. The whole trip with a winter jacket in the folding bed. Dog on the cold floor... - Bar, shop, restaurant... were not used because they were actually only open shortly after departure and shortly before arrival. Positive: We actually arrived at the destination port alive on this junk ferry.
