Prizren - Departing from Tirana, we journey to Prizren, honored as the Cultural Capital of Kosovo. Nestled along the Bistrica River and under the watchful eye of the historic Prizren Castle, this city has been a significant center for Albanian history and politics in the nineteenth century.

Albanian League of Prizren Museum [Muzeu Lidhja Shqiptare e Prizrenit] - We must visit the House of the Prizren League, a landmark that marked the first steps towards independence and the formation of a parliament and government. Additionally, the Ethnographic Museum within the House of the League offers insights into the local culture.

Sinan Pasha Mosque - Embark on an authentic exploration by visiting the famous “Stone Bridge of Love” and the Traditional Bazaar of Prizren. Centered around the magnificent Sinan Pasha Mosque, this is the most captivating and historically rich part of Prizren. Stroll through the ancient streets of the old city and enjoy the vibrant traditional bazaar, filled with charming handcrafts and exquisite perfume shops.

Pristina - About 260 kilometers from Tirana lies Pristina, the capital and largest city of Kosovo. Inhabited since the Old Stone Age and home to the ancient Vinča culture, it is one of the most fascinating archaeological and historical sites. In the heart of Pristina, the grand Library houses over two million materials, some dating back to the 15th century. Its architecture is a prime example of Yugoslavian Brutalism, blending Byzantine, Ottoman, and Serbian designs, making it a microcosm of the city. Since 1982, the Library has served as the National Library of Kosovo, offering a majestic glimpse into its past.

Newborn Monument - Explore the bustling city center of Pristina. Immerse yourself in its cultural heritage by admiring the iconic Newborn monument and the magnificent Mother Theresa Cathedral. The city’s rich culture is also evident in its many ancient Muslim mosques, some dating back to the 14th century, reflecting the devout faith of many residents.

Skopje - After a long day in Kosovo, we head to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, just an hour away from Pristina.

Memorial House of Mother Teresa - The Mother Teresa Memorial House honors the revered Catholic saint and Nobel Peace Prize laureate in her hometown of Skopje, North Macedonia, where she lived from 1910-1928. Located on Macedonia Street in the Centar municipality, the memorial house stands on the site of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, where Mother Teresa was baptized.

Old Bazaar, Skopje - The Skopje Old Bazaar is one of the oldest and largest marketplaces in the Balkans and was once the second-largest bazaar in the world, after Istanbul’s Kapalicarsi. It has been Skopje’s trade and commerce hub since the 12th century. Over the years, the city developed around the Old Bazaar, which remains the heart of the city. The Old Bazaar is also known for its historical and cultural significance, featuring some of Skopje’s oldest buildings, including Byzantine architecture, medieval mosques and churches, interesting museums, and modern architecture.

Ohrid - After a three-and-a-half-hour journey, we reach the historic city of Ohrid, a melting pot of cultures for centuries. Founded by Illyrian and Greek tribes, Ohrid has been influenced by various empires, including the Roman, Byzantine, Bulgarian, Turkish, Serbian, Yugoslavian, and now, the Independent Republic of North Macedonia. Perched on the hills, Ohrid has stood since the rule of Bulgarian Tsar Samuil in the 10th century.

St. Jovan Kaneo - Overlooking Lake Ohrid from Kaneo Beach in the ancient city of Ohrid, North Macedonia, stands a majestic church dedicated to John of Patmos, the author of Revelation, believed by some to be John the Apostle.

Ohrid - Explore the city center and the historic Old Bazaar area, where you can see the traditional dwellings of Ohrid. Much of the city is paved with stone, which is why it was originally known as Lyhnidas, derived from Latin, meaning a bright gemstone.

Our itinerary starts with a visit to Ohrid and its namesake lake, both of which are UNESCO sites celebrated for their breathtaking landscapes and significant history and culture. following this, we journey to Skopje, the country’s capital and biggest city, to soak in its remarkable structures and vibrant ambiance. As we move into the second day, we take off to Pristina, Kosovo’s bustling financial hub, and then Prizren, the historic capital of the world’s newest republic, both acclaimed for their distinctive cultural heritages and mesmerizing surroundings.
