Great adventure that... - Great adventure that allows you to get to know the capital of Macedonia. The city is quite small, so 4 hours are enough. The driver Ivan was very friendly.

Excellent day in North Macedonia - Excellent one day trip to see North Macedonia from Sofia, Bulgaria. The trip took about 3 hours and was very comfortable in a mini van holding 8 passengers. An excellent 2 hour walking tour upon arrival took us to all of the top sites. We had 2 hours of free time to shop and eat lunch. Great day!

Awesome day in Skopje - My day trip started at 07:50 when I was the first one being picked up from my hotel. We continued to pick up people until the last one borded the van at 08:15. Our first stop on thecway to Skopje was at a very clean gas station at 09:30 for 15 min. They had one toilet for gents and one for girls. Also we were able to buy coffee, cold drinks and snacks there. By 10:30 we were through the border and in Macedonia and had to change our watches one hour back to 09:30. Our 2nd stop was at around 10:30 local time - again a clean gas station but this time with a lot more toilets (I think 5 stalls in the girls bathroom) so the stop was just a few minutes. Then we drove the last of the way to the city centre of Skopje. There, we started our walking tour at 11:20 and first walked through the new part and then to the old town. The tour ended at 13:05ish at the Old Bazaar with lots of suggestions for traditional food and a good overview of relatively small city center so that everybody felt confident to go explore on their own and find the way back to the meeting point where we would meet up with our tour after the free time ended at 15:40. One the way home we only stopped once at around 18:30 after crossing the border back to Bulgaria (local time; time change one hour forward at border). We reached my hotel at 19:30 and I was the first one to be dropped off. In general, you do not need cash in Skopje (I had none) - our walking tour guide pointed out where to buy Souvenirs and food etc with cards. Extra jackets and drinks and snacks etc can stay in vehicle while in Skopje. The vehicle is a modern Mercedes Vito van with 9 seats (one for our guide who is also the driver and 8 guests). I'm tall and big but was very comfortable in that van for the long drive. Our guide was super nice and friendly. He gave a good overview where we would stop along the way and what the general schedule would be and made sure we stayed on schedule in a very non-pushy way. He also gave some interesting info about Sofia and insider tips for restaurants and things to do. Since we were in the van for quite a few hours, we all talked with each other and it was a very friendly "community feeling" throughout the day; at the end it felt like travelling with friends and not a whole bunch of strangers - which is definitely the big plus of travelling in a small group. In summary, it is a long day with a 4hrs drive (including breaks) each way. The four hour stop in Skopje is long enough to get a good overview of the City Center, have an authentic lunch and buy some stuff at the Old Basar without feeling too rushed. I would 100% recommend this day trip with BulTours; I loved it and Skopje is so worth visiting!!

Comprehensive trip. Good tour guides, beautiful drive - Travelled over the Easter weekend. The group is small enough to be practical but large enough for a bit of company (for us it was about 6 people). The drive to Skopje was amazing. Some beautiful scenery We had a driver called z meikov, he was brilliant, knew so much about all sorts of things and was a decent driver. I felt well cared for. Skopje itself is very interesting, we had a sub group leader who knew loads about all sorts of different stuff including the former Yugoslavia. This made the trip very interesting. Overall highly recommended

Great experience! - A very interesting and well-organised tour. It's a great opportunity to explore one more Balkan country in one day. Special thanks to our very kind and understanding driver, who shared a lot of pieces of advice. All in all, I'd strongly recommend this tour. Maybe a bit more free time in Skopje would make it absolutely perfect. Thank you so much! You're doing a great job!

Our driver was very polite and knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions our group had and was very easy to have a conversation with on many subjects. This really helped the journey time fly by.
