Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is also a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance, safeguarded by Serbia due to Kosovo’s unrecognized self-declared independence.
• Mother Teresa Cathedral - The construction of this cathedral stirred some debate among Muslim communities, who viewed it as disproportionately large given the small Catholic population in the region. It is among the tallest structures in Pristina.
• Pristina National Library - The library’s mission is to gather, preserve, promote, and provide access to Kosovo’s documentary and intellectual heritage. It hosts exhibitions and maintains a national newspaper archive, offering various other services. The library is notable for its distinctive history and the architectural style by Croatian architect Andrija Mutnjaković, which has sparked discussions about its exterior design.
• Newborn Monument - Revealed on 17 February 2008, the day Kosovo officially declared independence from Serbia, this monument features the word “Newborn” in large capital letters, initially painted bright yellow. It was later repainted with the flags of countries that have recognized Kosovo.
• The Great Mosque - Fully renovated in 2015 as a gift from the Turkish government, this mosque boasts vibrant interiors that showcase the Turkish baroque style.
• Fatih Mosque (Xhamia e Mbretit) - Also known as the Imperial Mosque, the Fatih Mosque was constructed in 1461 by Sultan Mehmet II Fatih. It was designated a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1990 by the Republic of Serbia.
• Gadima Cave - Situated within marble limestones from the Mesozoic era, Gadime Cave is adorned with remarkable crystallized stalagmites and stalactites that have developed over millions of years.

Your tour guide/driver will collect you from your chosen location in Skopje. This comprehensive day trip commences with a journey to a charming medieval monastery in Grachanica (which is roughly 90km and an approximate 1 hour and 50 minutes ride from Skopje), erected in 1321 over the ruins of a 6th-century Orthodox church. Next, we travel to Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo (a mere 20 minutes away from Grachanica). We will explore the towering 26m clock tower and the National Library. At the Independent House of Kosovo, we will absorb the narrative of ex-president Ibrahim Rugova’s struggle for independence from Serbia, and witness the 2008 Newborn Monument, a symbol of Kosovo’s proclamation of independence. We’ll also view the splendid Sultan Mehmet Fatih Mosque and Jashar Pasha Mosque, two notable Ottoman mosques and celebrated local landmarks. At some point during our journey, we will pause for lunch. To conclude, we journey back to Skopje and drop you off at any location of your choice in Skopje.
