Relaxing and informative art session - We had a free day during our trip in Yogyakarta and booked this Batik art class on a whim and were so happy that we did. It was a really lovely experience. We learned loads about the process of how batik art is created and had lots of fun creating our own pieces. Our hosts were kind and informative and it was lovely to spend the morning outside the city for a relaxing experience. Would definitely recommend 😊

Amazing Batik Experience & Prambanam Temple - One of a kind experience making my own batik. While we waited for it to dry, we went to the big hindu / buddhist temple Prambanan😍 we had the most beautiful sunset there.

Lovely local artisan experience - The class was lovely, they provided tea and snacks and were patient with me. Batik is more complex than I thought and they did a good job balancing teaching me the steps, being patient/kind and stepping in to help to ensure my designs came out nicely.i would go back if I had more time. The place was really like a home in a village with an art gallery of beautiful batik fabrics. For the class it was just me, the lady who owns the business and a translator/guide. Everyone was nice. The translator/guide knew it was my last day and took me to temples while the piece dried and gave a decent lesson. The temple he showed me had a beautiful history and because it wasn't borubudur or prambanan it was mostly empty. it was a perfect relaxed activity for a last day. It did go over the time so I would not plan something immediately after.

Masterclass in Batik - Excellent master class in batik technique: from drawing to the processing of the cloth to make batik as the final result. An eye opener experience as it is not as easy as it looks this gained better appreciation of the detailed works involved. Highly recommended.

Great class highly recommend - This is a great class. You are able to learn the batik process from start to finish. They provide you with pre-outlined designs to choose from. The class is located in a village and while waiting for the batik to dry we walked to a nearby temple. What a bonus. We had a lovely college student as our translator- she was great. The owner is an incredible batik artist. She sells her work at the studio. It’s fun to look through even if you don’t want to buy anything

Nice experience - Nice experience, peaceful place and friendly people. The explaining of the proces could have been a bit more explicit. The extra costs for a bag because there were no fabric pieces available felt out of balance.
