Exception hands-on intro to hand-painted batik making - The boutique making workshop was outstanding. It walked me through each stage of the process with high-quality instruction, support, and detail. You can draw your own design or work from one that has been prepared for your selection. The instructor and assistant (who speaks English very well) or warm, encouraging, and detail oriented. They will provide the level of supervision and support that you need during the whole process. In addition to (beginning to) learn this culturally, important, technical craft within a UNESCO -recognized community for Batik, you will have the opportunity to look at many different, locally handmade batiks, available for purchase. The quality of the instruction was absolutely excellent, and everyone was warm and enthusiastic. I could not have been more pleased with this process, and it was a perfect counterpoint to a physically intense day at the temples. In addition, I was provided with super tasty homemade snacks and coffee along with other drinks. Make sure you have a reliable driver because the workshop is located in a neighborhood that’s known for Batik making. It is close to Pramanam Temple so you may want to combine these activities. It is roughly an hour from the airport, but traffic dependent. I’m absolutely thrilled with the quality of the workshop! If you are at all crafty, do it!

Unique and amazing experience! - This was an amazing experience! There was the option of using a tote bag, and do our own design on them... Which was amazing! The owner and Salwa were super kind and helpful! I had a really great time in here! I definitely recommend it!!!

Batik is “art”! - Appreciate the one on one instruction! Our teacher was very patient and encouraged us even when we did not do a perfect job. Our first time and the hands lacked precision and control. But as he said, even when you are making a mistake, you are still making “art”.

Fun class with amazing teacher & guide - We had a very wonderful experience batik class with Bagus & Titik. They are very lovely person and very helpful!. Madam Titik even did sketch my batik design request in no time. (I feel bad but Im very happy!!!!) so thankyou so much for the time and fun! I will suggest everyone to take this batik workshop! ❤️

Perfect relaxing activity after a busy few days. Highly recommended - Despite arriving half an hour late, due to transport difficulties, Batus welcomed us and kindly made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Batus is a very patient teacher, and trying our hand at Batik Making was an interesting and really lovely experience. A quiet, thoughtful, and creative activity away from the hubbub of the city for 3 hours. Restorative.

Amazing 4 hours spent for a part of Indonesia culture - Wow what amazing experience!!!! Batus was an amazing teacher very knowledgeable and explained the process from start to finish. Would so recommend this trip and experience. Don't let this gem slip through your fingers.

Relaxing and informative art session - We had a free day during our trip in Yogyakarta and booked this Batik art class on a whim and were so happy that we did. It was a really lovely experience. We learned loads about the process of how batik art is created and had lots of fun creating our own pieces. Our hosts were kind and informative and it was lovely to spend the morning outside the city for a relaxing experience. Would definitely recommend 😊

Amazing Batik Experience & Prambanam Temple - One of a kind experience making my own batik. While we waited for it to dry, we went to the big hindu / buddhist temple Prambanan😍 we had the most beautiful sunset there.
