Highlights
  • Soller - Sóller, the commercial and cultural heart of the Sierra, invites us to its main square, ideal for relaxing on a terrace while admiring the church of San Bartolomé and the Banco de Sóller building. Both structures are modernist works by architect Joan Rubió, a disciple of Gaudí, who also designed the church’s façade, featuring a stone-carved rose window. Known as the cradle of modernism, Sóller boasts a rich history reflected in its streets and buildings. The old colonial-style manor houses and palaces narrate the story of how Majorcan merchants amassed fortunes trading oranges in France during the 19th and 20th centuries, and how King Alfonso XIII declared Sóller the city’s commercial and cultural hub.
  • Port de Soller - Puerto de Sóller, a natural harbor encircled by mountains, offers a variety of activities and points of interest, along with stunning views. The Port of Sóller has a vibrant maritime history, thanks to its prime location in the Sierra de Tramuntana, which established it as the area’s commercial center and a coveted prize for pirates and smugglers of the past.
  • El Tren de Soller - The iconic wooden train of Sóller takes us through the distinctive landscapes of the Sierra de Alfabia in the Sierra Tramuntana and the Valley of Sóller. The journey is filled with the scents of orange and olive trees, nature, and the sea, combined with tunnels, steep mountains, lush forests, and breathtaking views, creating an unforgettable experience.

Good, well organized trip. - A pleasant, well-planned trip where we traveled by bus, vintage tram and vintage train. It was nice to be picked up reasonably close to the hotel. The guide was well informed and "juggled" in several languages. It is a wonderful experience doing business with Carmen at the local office.

Well worth the Journey! - A lovely way to travel from Soller to Port Soller. Through the town of Soller then the orchards and countryside and finally into the lovely bustling Port.

Not the best experience - Not the best experience! 30mins or more in leaving Palma. Disorganised at pick up point. We couldn’t hear anything the Tour Guide said due to faulty equipment! Only had 7 mins in Port Soller so only had time for toilet. Didn’t get to see anything. The tram and train were nice. Again very little time in Soller.

Too much waiting around for coaches and not enough time in the ttwo towns. - The Soller/Port de Soller trip was mainly waiting and short visits. 1/ We arrived at the pickup point 15 minutes before the due time of 13:45. The lay-by at the pickup point had two vans parked in it. I received a phone call at 13:45 asking where we were as the coach was waiting, I replied saying we were at the pickup point, but the minibus was 15 meters away on the opposite side of the road and the view blocked by the vans. 2/ Waiting for the Coach in Parma (20 minutes) to take us to the Soller station in Palma, however the train journey to Soller was great. Sadly, we only had 25 minutes in Soller which is just enough time to go to the toilets and get an ice cream or a drink. Then it's the tram to Port de Soller, again a very picturesque village but only 20 minutes there, and again, no time to get a proper look round. It's then a 10-minute walk to the coach back to Palm and the eternal doping off of passengers....we were the last to be dropped off. Would I recommend this to anyone?....no. The Train/Tram journeys are a great experience but the hour and a half coach journey back, again waiting for a coach and dropping off the extra people is too much.

Waste of time & money - Unfortunately can only give 2 stars. We were picked up from Santa Ponca & taken to Palma to change coaches. All went well & we were kept informed by the guide with clear instructions. However it went downhill as the new guide was not clear with any instructions, she started giving information about various areas but couldn't be heard & we didn't even know she'd started. We arrived at Sollier and she told us we had 20 mins to go to the toilet, walk around & grab a coffee. Barely enough time to do anything. Having then arrived at the meeting point at the allotted time we were told by the tram driver we had to wait another 15 mins for the tram. The guide was nowhere to be found & we had no idea what was going on. Utter chaos as we didn't even get seats as promised. More chaos when we arrived at the train station, as we had less than 5 mins to visit the toilet, guide told us to stay put while she found which carriage we had then suddenly she was boarding & everyone was moving forward, again no info. The Orange train was worth going on though. On the coach back the guide mumbled and couldn't be heard. All through the trip all of the customers were having to ask each what was going on. Not worth the money and next would make our own way there for a lot less money. Chaotic, uninformative and a waste of time & money.

Dire experience. - Nefarious organization and the worst the guide ('Vivian'), with no gift of people, bad answers, despot, unsupportive of the elderly and children. I do not recommend the company for excursions.

Never again - Never experienced anything like this before. Pure tourist trap. Excellent driver and guide, but the concept is totally wrong. Spent a whole day in different - albeit authentic - means of transport, no time to visit Soller or Porte Soller, but an hour and a half dropped in Calobra, where there is nothing to do and where my food flew into the garbage bin after two bites. Maybe this works for certain people, but you don't do this to a European traveler!
