Be open to both - This was a 10/10. Although I wanted to hang glide, Luis suggested against it for safety.! I trust the guide and had a great safe experience

Great experience - Great experience. Bring bug repellent. Insurance was 110 brazilian reals. If you really want to do deltA hang-gliding and are a bit overweight, just wait for the right pilot. I'm 85 Kg, my husband is 94 Kg and we both did it in a day with weak winds.

Safety First! - For this company safety is key! We arrived an he said that it was not a good day and gave a complete refund. We were not able to reschedule. No risking it. Just did the right thing. Will choose them again if ever back in Rio.

A Must-Do adventure while you are in Rio! - The instructors were professional and made the flight feel safe and smooth. Gliding over the vibrant landscape and landing softly on the beach was the highlight of my trip. If you’re visiting Rio, this adventure is a must!

Great experince - We had a great experience. The only issue I had was that we paid to go hang-gliding. When we got there, the person in charge stated the winds may not be good for hang-gliding that day, and paragliding would be best. Once we got up to the top of the mountain, it was endless people hang-gliding, which was disappointing because that is essentially what we signed up to do. Overall, the experience was good, the instructors were nice and helpful and we loved the views from the sky of Rio.

A mixed bag of emotions - First I can’t stress this enough- bring bug spray. The chiggers there are brutal! I have three stars because my actual paragliding with Trota was awesome a five star experience. But the rest of the experience deserves nothing. The weather was iffy that day- sunny to one side, cloudy to the other, so I knew I was probably in for waiting a long time. No problem. I got there at 9:40 for a 10:00 glide. At around 10:15 Luis gathered all the people waiting and asked if we wanted to do paragliding or hang gliding. A few people said para then the guy next to me (referred to as ‘guy’ from now on) said hang gliding. Luis told him that there was a long line of people waiting at the launch pad so he may have to wait a while. Guy said ok. Luis then comes to me and I said hang gliding as well, and that I was fine with waiting. Luis says ‘well you know that you have to run to start and that you can’t be afraid or it will be dangerous. You should do paragliding.’ To which I responded ‘Didn’t say that to him (guy). I will wait for hang gliding’ (I’ve been paragliding, parasailing and sky diving before…I wasn’t at all afraid) So Luis says it will probably be about an hour and a half. No problem, like I said, I was prepared to wait. About 45 minutes later, Luis came back to Guy and me and said that the winds weren’t favorable, and the pilots were looking to only go with light people- and he looked right at me. Now, I’m no stick but I weighed less than Guy I think. A little later, I noticed that Luis and Guy were gone. I didn’t give it much mind. About 2 hours after the talk with Luis, he landed from a para glide and came over to me and said that the conditions for hang gliding were still really bad and there are hardly any people setting off (no front wind, apparently). I said that I had been watching hang gliders land for the past two hours. He sighed, crouched down so he was eye level with me and said that I had to make a decision, they could refund me, switch to paragliding or reschedule. I knew right then that this man was never going to let me hang glide. (I found it interesting that refund came first) Since I’d been there that long and was getting eaten alive by the insects (please, bring bug spray!) I decided to paraglide. Like I said at the beginning- the experience was great. Trota was a lot of fun and reassuring at the same time. his English is rough, but better than my Portuguese so between those and Spanish we communicated pretty well! He took great video on a go-pro as well as a 360 camera (this video costs an extra 300rs) While we were up at the top, the hang gliders were continually taking off- there was a queue but it wasn’t that long. As I got back to the waiting area, I saw Guy getting into an Uber. I yelled out ‘how was it?’ And he gave a big smile and a thumbs up. Now, I can’t guarantee that he did the hang and not para gliding but we had had an in depth conversation about how we both wanted to hang glide (and about how nervous he was about it) so I have a gut feeling that he went hang gliding…and Luis left me waiting for an extra hour and a half just to break me. Again conjecture, but between the comments about being scared, my weight, and getting a refund, I feel I was purposely excluded from doing the activity I set out to do. Definitely do this activity while in Rio- either para or hang gliding… but book with someone else!
