Highlights Sao Tome - Good trip - Had to wait nearly an hour for tour to start as ship was tendering which meant passengers were arriving at different times. However trip was fun and the guide had excellent english and knowledge of the islands history.

A great tour! - My friends, husband and I took this tour. We were cruising with NCL and the tours were quite expensive. This tour went to all the same places, less tour people and great guides for a lot less money. It was a great tour and gave a great oversight of the islands. We were late getting off the ship but the tour waited and adjusted our time accordingly. It was wonderful and recommend to everyone!

Missed opportunity - The Island was beautiful, with lush vegetation and friendly people. The scenery from the beaches was breathtaking. However, the tour was crowded, as many cruise tourists had disembarked on that day, so we were unable to view all the attractions. Our guide ended up taking us to some village which had a tiny waterfall. The path to this waterfall was treacherous and one of our party members fell down on the uneven cobbled stone path. If you go, insist on being taken to the Saint Nicholas Waterfall.

A hot, humid, bouncy ride that required what seemed to be unnecessay walking. - It was a hot, humid, bouncy ride in a 20 passenger bus. We did see a lot of Sao Tome on a sunny day. When it took a long time for people to get off the ship, there were two half-full vans. We were thankful for the invitation to move to a full van and get started probably one hour before the rest of the group were able to arrive.
George was difficult to hear in the back of the van, so we missed a lot of information. A plus was his flexibility with requests.
Our major problem with the tour was managing bus stops. At Pico Cao Grande we were told to get off the van and walk probably 300 meters to get photographs. After leaving the van, it went forward 300 meters to turn around. Why were we required to get off and walk!
The second example was at the waterfall where we were required to leave the van and take another long walk downhill. At this place other identical vans drove their clients most of the way down and back up the hill. There was room to turn around, but our van stayed up on the main road.

Fair Cruise Ship Excursion - We were put in a Taxi without Air Conditioning. Water was provided. The guide spoke very little English and was unable to explain what we were seeing. Did get us back to the cruise ship on time.
