Fantastic tour - This is one of the best tours I've ever taken. The scenery was beautiful, and Atanas was an amazing tour guide. I spent a whole month in Bulgaria, and this tour was the best thing I did all month.

Very friendly and professional - The booking of the tour was very easy, and our guide Vess responded quickly to confirm exact details or where and how we would meet. We were two guests and the tour was exclusive for us without other people. Vess is very friendly and knowledgeable, both about cultural as well as natural places of interest. We had sufficient time to visit Belogradchik Fortress, had lunch in town, visited the Venetsa Cave, and on the way back we even managed to visit the Vratsa Gorge which was a breathtakingly beautiful extra. We were back in Sofia by 18:00h and Vess even dropped us off at our hotel, which was very kind. I can absolutely recommend this tour.

Beautiful landscapes in countryside - I could see a lot of beautiful landscapes. Especially the view from the summit of the fortress was amazing. At lunchtime my guide took me to the restaurant and I could have some Bulgarian traditional cuisine. And she explained the geology of that region to me, it was interesting.

Fantastic tour & tour guide - My husband & I were in Sofia for about a week in April 2023. This was our favorite day trip out of Sofia. The tour was by Zelanos Tours, & our tour guide, Vincent or Vinny, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the Belogradchik Rocks & Fortress, as well as the Venetsa cave, & he gave us a lot of information about the sites we visited. The Rocks & Fortress were incredible, & the cave was beautiful. It was a long day trip but well worth it for anyone visiting Sofia. This tour & Vinny are highly recommended!

Good trip but unjust booking system against solo travelers needs to be amended - It was a beautiful place to visit and the guide was good. Comment on how the booking system is set to to be DISCRIMINATORY against SOLO travelers. It is plainly WRONG that I, a solo traveler, paid almost twice as much as others. In my group it was 3 people: me and two people. I paid $70 more than the two who booked together. The only reason was because I booked as one person. How does this system make sense? It needs to be fixed and Viator needs to refund the differences to those who have become victims of this unethical business practice.

Amazing Day in Northwestern Bulgaria - So, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this tour/trip. It was a fabulous experience. I was traveling solo, so I was a little apprehensive about what the day would be like, but Deyan was a wonderful guide. He was very kind and friendly, along with being both informed (and curious!) about the region, His enthusiasm was contagious. The drive north was long but beautiful--we drove through mountains and got to see a lot of forest and small towns. Deyan had learned about a great spot to view Belogradchik before heading to the fortress, so we hiked to an incredible spot that overlooked the entire area. We also got to check out some of the flora and fauna, which was fascinating. We grabbed lunch at a local restaurant (including trying a bit of rakia), before heading to the fortress. The fortress was a combination of indescribable geological formation--just calling them red rock spires doesn't do them justice--and historical architecture with the fortress itself. We spent some time exploring and hiking around the site before checking out the small local natural history museum nearby. The museum curator was very enthusiastic and showed us some local plants that are only found in this region, despite the fact that similar climate can be found elsewhere. They are still working on figuring out why this is. From there, we entered the final leg of our trip to Venetsa Cave. We got there just in time for the final tour, and were given hard hats before we ventured down into the cave. Deyan translated what our guide was saying, and we went through five rooms that held rock formations I'd never seen before. Many of the stalactites were made of a rock that glowed when light was behind it, so we got a spectacular show. The ride back was long, but a wonderful opportunity to decompress and take in the scenery after such a packed day. Deyan was truly a great guide, and I would recommend this trip to any and everyone. I'll be looking into more tours from this company the next time I'm in Bulgaria (next summer? we'll see!).

beauty of nature - If someone loves nature, I definitely recommend it. Very beautiful places. Definitely worth a visit. Minuses - rather poor infrastructure for tourists. Having trouble finding a restroom or eating lunch. But as for me, the views from above compensated for the shortcomings :)
