Walk from Karnare village to the hut Dermenka

Central Balkan National Park - If you have selected an option with transport, we will pick you up from Sofia to transfer you to the starting point of the hike-the village of Karnare. The path is going up gently to the main crest of the mountain. From this point to the hut, the terrain is mild and safe even in winter, without any substantial ascending and descending.

The picturesque landscape features ancient beech and evergreen woods with an average tree age of around 150 years, high-altitude meadows, and thin, rocky paths along the prominent mountain ridge. This trail is a part of the broader E3 European long-distance walking route. The mountain range names the Balkan Peninsula and the trip offers numerous hiking possibilities throughout the year.
