- Boyana Church - Situated on the outskirts of Sofia, Boyana Church is composed of three buildings. The eastern church dates back to the 10th century and was expanded in the early 13th century by Sebastocrator Kaloyan, who commissioned a second two-story building adjacent to it. The frescoes in this second church, painted in 1259, are among the most significant collections of medieval paintings. The ensemble is completed by a third church, constructed in the early 19th century. This site stands as one of the most complete and well-preserved monuments of East European medieval art.
- Rila Monastery - Surrounded by stunning nature, part of the Rila peaks are visible from the monastery. Founded in the 10th century by Saint John of Rila the Wonderworker, it is located in the central Rila region near the Rila River. The monastery is notable for its impressive size, featuring 5 floors and a vast courtyard. The buildings are uniquely beautiful, and the churches house many exquisite icons and murals.
The monastery also features a striking defense tower, Hrelova Tower, built in 1335 by the local feudal lord Hreljo Voivoda. It is the oldest preserved structure in the monastery yard and has a chapel, Holy Transfiguration, at its top.

The tour starts from your hotel. After two hours transfer we will reach the Rila monastery. We will leave you to explore the monastery for 2 hours by audio guide. After this time you will take the shuttle back to Sofia. Before to return you back we will take you to Boyana church, where you will have time to visit the church with audio guide. At the end…
