A sublime day in the Valleys of Queens and Kings! - We were accompanied in this tour by an extraordinary guide, Sayed Gamel, who is a real living encyclopedia. He knew every little detail and always had an anecdote to tell. Very attentive to our needs, he , as a bonus, take us to eat in a small restaurant absolutely charming. An excursion and guide highly recommended!

Knowledgeable Guide and an Incredible Temple - Our guide, Sayed Gamal, was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable and brought to life what we were looking at.
As for the temple, it is incredibly preserved and well worth a visit. Some of the most vibrant colours and details we've seen in all of Egypt!

Dendara and Abydos make a great day trip from Luxor - Mena was a terrific guide for Dendara and Abydos. He has a wisdom and pace that draw you in to learn. He walks you through the history and noteable things to see and teaches which I really enjoyed. Then he let me explore the sites for a lot of pictures and to reflect on what he taught me. I felt respected and I had the time to fully enjoy the sites and appreciate them. Again, Mena was a wonderful guide and I highly recommend him. Also, go early as the sites are amazing with few other tourists.

Abydos and Dendera - My son and I spent the day in Dendera and Abydos with Mena as our guide. The tour was very nice with lots of important history to see. The travel time is very long from Luxor, but there were not many people at these locations. After the tour, we had a great authentic Egyptian meal before driving back. Mena had a lot of good knowledge to share with us, so I would reccomend it if you want to see these interesting sites.

Go and see those temples - The trip was memorable and comfortable. Mena my guide provides the information and site stewardship and our very skillful driver ( you need it going to Abydos) provides excellent service on this trip.

Would recommend - Very punctual. Relaxing tour with a good guide. Good driver even when a small part of the road was bumpy. We had a delicious lunch in the home of a local family. All very kind people. Would recommend :)

Started fine, then turned scary and dangerous with harassment. huge safety issue at the end - First, the reason why I'm writing such a horrible review is because of what happened on the drive back from the tour that was an very unsafe situation. Before I get to that I want to provide some feedback.
1.) I think they should provide tourists with toilet paper, a lot of people come in blind to Egypt and to the sights and they aren't aware of the lack of toilet paper at temples etc. I had gotten very sick on this tour and we didn't have enough toilet paper packed, and our tour guide's feedback was dismissive with a comment of "why don't you have more of your own toilet paper" when we asked for more and didn't offer to help. I think if we're paying almost $200 and that the toilet paper stuff is a common thing, tours should provide this for the tourists or at least give them a heads up, because again, it's not mentioned in the tour that it's needed beforehand and you really only find out in a bad way
2.) the temples we've been going to have taken card for entrance fees, and this tour happened to have a temple that only accepted cash, and earlier before the tour started my friend and i specifically only took out enough cash for a few things, not the ticket. I feel like there really needs to be more communication in terms of what payments to expect for the certain temples you're visiting. even our tour guide, while we were walking up to the ticket office, was like "i think this is only cash, it might be the only one in luxor that takes cash only, we'll find out,"--- not helpful when we're paying $200 and don't have a lot of cash to begin with
3.) generally the tour guide was ok and the driver was fine.
4.) i do find this tour overpriced, egypt hustles tourists like no other. I found booking through our accommodation was cheaper, and went with my intuition with this in terms of safety and paying cash. this tour was double the local prices, but again, viator also provides insurance etc, which the tour operator noted after i mentioned pricing and taking advantage of tourists, and I do hear this argument. However this was before we were put in a dangerous situation on the ride back after this tour booked through viator
5.) after i finished the texting conversation with the tour operator and said I hear his perspective on the pricing and safety with insurance, and that the tour guide and driver were great and that i'll write a good review, things made a sour turn. our tour guide said his boss wanted to meet us and take us out to lunch, and honestly i had been so sick earlier and we were exhausted from the heat, so we politely said thank you but declined. He kept pushing us to come. over and over again. Finally after a while, he dropped it. And then right when we were getting close to being dropped off at our accommodation the driver pulls over and our tour guide says that we need to wait for his boss, he wants to make sure everything was alright with the tour and to wait. My warning antennas immediately went off, we said we were really tired and just want to be safely dropped off at our airbnb, and he refused, he kept saying we have to wait for the boss, he invited us to lunch, we need to wait for him. He wasn't taking no for an answer. So my friend and I literally bolt out of the car and run to our airbnb. The tour guide then proceeds to send texts about writing him a good review. Booking through a reputable company you'd think you wouldn't experience these scenarios, why was this guy not letting us leave? why was his boss insistent on meeting us, after i had previously said everything was great and i'll leave a great review? why wouldn't they just take no for an answer and drop us off at our accommodation safely, as was previously agreed in the viator tour? We felt VERY unsafe, and we're two young women, we felt like something awful was about to happen, the energy felt sinister and shady. I will not be booking with viator again. I reported this and requested a refund as 1.) we felt really unsafe even after leaving because they knew our airbnb location and we were going to be there another day, coming and going we were anxious and restless 2.) we were never safely dropped off at our accommodation, which is part of the agreement of services in this tour, instead we were harassed and they were trying to do something shady and gross.
I still haven't heard from viator regarding my incident report. They have also denied my refund.
