  • Biskupska palača - The bishop’s palace and the remains of the two cathedrals date back to the time when Christians were allowed to practice their religion freely. Today, only the foundation walls can be seen.
  • Large urban spa - The Roman baths were used for several hundred years. They were the center of social and cultural life in Roman times.
  • Pet mostova - The “five bridges” used to belong to a kind of industrial area outside the old city center.
  • Town Gate - Porta Caesarea - The Porta Caesarea was the capital gate in Roman times. The ruts of the old Roman chariots can still be seen today!

  • Ul. don Frane Bulića 91 - The “Cemetery of the 16 Sarcophagi” is a necropolis next to the road leading to the amphitheater. Roman cemeteries were built outside the city walls at that time.
  • Kapljuc - Another basilica and necropolis we will see on the way to the amphitheater. Here were buried 5 martyrs who died in the amphitheater of Salona at the beginning of the 4th century during the persecution of Christians by Diocletian.

Great city to explore with a knowledgeable guide! - We had a wonderful experience touring Salona with Dinah on our honeymoon! She was able to add context and history to the ruins and we were able to go at our own pace. She was also very personable and it felt like we were exploring with a knowledgeable friend. She was mindful about the summer heat and called beforehand to recommend going later in the day. She even had extra water for us, which was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated! Dinah also made sure we had plenty of recommendations for restaurants and other local activities in Split 😊 If you're looking for a tour guide in Split or Salona, Dinah deserves to be at the top of your list!

We toured the Roman ruins in Solana & the Fortress in Klis. We went mainly because some of GOT had been filmed there. But OMG, I - Dinah was wonderful. Energetic and super well-informed about the ruins and castle we toured. She clearly loves her what she does and makes you feel like you are touring with a friend.
