Fun and interesting few hours out! - We did ‘The Hole’ escape room for 5 (2x adults, 15yr old boy, 12 yr old girl and a 10yr old boy) then did the self guided tour around the prison. We were 10minutes late for our booking but the staff, kindly, still let us do it. We didn’t manage to escape but it didn’t matter we still all had great fun! It was challenging but not too challenging (think we would have got it if we’d had 5 minutes more, we just spent too much time arguing :) ). The prison guard, Amy, who was in charge of the escape room was lovely and did a really good job! And all the other staff we encountered were also really nice. The tour was interesting and we could go at our own pace as we did the self guided tour. We all had a good time and were glad we paid a visit!

The hole escape room and ghost tour experience - Starting out the whole team were so friendly on arrival, then we did the hole escape room the immersive guard was fantastic at making you feel as you were a prisoner while giving up great guidance we had so much fun in the escape room, then we did the ghost tour and the guard Roger was fantastic gave us all the information and answer all out questions in great detail so fascinating to see all the Victorian side of my prison how is just been left to have it's own identity not being refurbished have it such a atmosphere, could not ask for a better tour guide, would definitely recommend if you are interested in history and old prisons.

Excellent Experience and Lots of Fun - Our family did “The Hole” escape room. Erin was brilliant and stayed in character and made the event even more immersive. My kids have done a few escape rooms and said this ranks up there with the best. My wife did the guided tour with Jeremy who was funny and very informative. Really good day out. Only watch out is that parking outside is limited so give yourself enough time to find an alternative

Definitely worth visiting - Our nephew wanted to try an escape room, so I looked round couldn't believe the cost of some.
However Shepton Mallet "The Hole" was absolutely brilliant and definitely worth doing. The Hole was amazing...we didn't escape 🤣
Then the prison itself is very eerie it feels like there are people still there. We srlf guided as it wouldn't let me add guided as well as The Hole, but seem the guided tours imagine you'll get far more from the experience.
Will definitely revisit with other relatives when they stay.

Brilliant escape room - “The Hole” - A really amazing experience. We are both quite new to escape rooms and we really enjoyed the puzzles in this one. Our guard, Georgina, was fantastic and really made the experience very immersive. We found the escape room challenging and great fun, and then enjoyed learning the history of the prison on our walk around afterwards! What a great way to spend a Saturday

Would highly recommend - Such a fun experience! Reception staff were friendly and helpful and the escape room staff really get into character! Also included with the tickets is entry to the prison to look around.

Could be better. - Myself and hubby went with son and daughter in law both of who had done lots of escape rooms but this was our first time
Scared the life out of me when they came to get us.
Put us in room and explained a few of the rules and things to do. Took phones off us which were apparently locked in a box in the room.
Anyway waiting to start the game after being locked in when we were asked to push emergency door button for them to enter. Later when we got stuck it turned out they forgot to lock one of the boxes, the one that our phones were in.
That was then sorted and the game continued.
We did actually manage to get out but had things gone a bit smoother we would have completed it a lot quicker.
Never the less we really did enjoy it and would recommend it to others.
One thing I'd like to see improve is the torch, we only had 2 which meant 2 of us were unable to join in completely, not sure if it was an oversight but for me it spoilt it somewhat because I couldn't really contribute because I couldn't see.

A great experience - Grandma and three teenagers, we really enjoyed the experience although we were not quite as clever as we'd hoped and failed to get out, even with Tia's hints. She was suitably fierce, especially when my grandson played 'the smart Alec'. All the staff were friendly and helpful when not required to be strict. Lots of information boards to aid the self-guided tour. The new owners had only taken over a week before and there were a few teething problems: only one WC available which had run out of toilet roll and there wasn't any more, but would thoroughly recommend as something to do with older children (8+). Having parked half a mile away in the town's free car park, we did have a little trouble finding the venue but I was assured that signs would soon be in position.
