Brilliant escape room - We'd done The Cell escape room last year and enjoyed it so much we decided to go back and try The Hole. Excellent escape room. Great value for money. And you can take a tour of the Prison too. Really interesting visit.

Interesting tour and good escape room - We took part in The Hole escape room, followed by the guided tour The escape room was great fun, worked well with 2 people, I think anymore people would have been a bit cramped. The challenges are really clever, and very family friendly, easier than some other escape rooms done elsewhere, but enjoyable and unique nonetheless. Roger who took our tour was very knowledgeable, and answered a lot of our questions. He took the tour at our pace and allowed us to explore the different rooms. You get to see a lot of the prison, covering many different aspects both old and new. As mentioned in the booking emails, the prison is COLD, so definitely bring gloves/coat Overall, a really interesting day

A great day out with fabulous staff - We took a group of school students to Shepton Mallet Prison today and I can honestly say we had the best day! First we had a guided tour with Jason who was amazing - knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure the students saw everything and experienced what it would have been like to be held there. We then did an escape room with Tia who played the part of the grumpy prison guard to perfection! We did both The Cell and The Hole and both were equally brilliant for different reasons. The students came away buzzing with enthusiasm having had a fantastic day and as people with teens know, this is often difficult to achieve! The after dark sessions look amazing and I’m very tempted to come back and give the haunted cells a go. We stopped off in the visitors centre and the staff were friendly and efficient and food/ drink was very reasonable. A little gem!

The Hole Escape Room - Fantastic day out. Started with the hole escape room. It's the more 'scary' experience than the other escape room. I won't spoil it but our 11 year old was fine with the 'scary-ness level'. Escape room was challenging with some more skill based tasks and some thinking tasks. The prison is massive and so there is a lot of just empty cells to wander around. They do have quite a few exhibits and I can understand they wouldn't be able to fill every cell with something. The only downside is the mould that is growing in almost every room in the prison. I would not recommend any overnight stays as it cannot be good to be exposed to such mould levels for a long time. Potentially consider bringing a mask for some areas.

Would 100% recommend might even come again and do the ghost tour. Everyone in our group enjoyed exploring the prison and the hole was amazing and very fun to do. Very highly recommend to anyone.
