Mayadevi Temple is one of the important sites in the Lumbini Garden with many historians and archaeologists referring to it as the place of birth of Lord Buddha. Inscriptions on the Ashoka Pillar also refers the spot as his birthplace. It is said that here the newly born Prince took his first seven steps and gave a peace message to humanity.
You can walk around the garden or find a peaceful meditative spot to contemplate.
After completing your visits to Lumbini, get driven back to “Gorakhpur” and get dropped at your hotel in “Gorakhpur”

Birthplace of Buddha - I was picked up comfortably from my hotel in Lucknow and then taken to Lumbini . This place falls in Nepal and i had to spend few moments in completing paper formalities while entering Nepal side. Buddha maya garden was very calm and historic. The birthplace of Buddha has got very special place among the buddhists and i can see a lot of them touring the site.
