A day at Pompeii - Had a great time visiting Pompeii with my friend . We had a very good guide he was very thorough & knowledgeable & gave us extra time for pictures & to look around on our own . Lunch was included & was at a very nice restaurant. Then we took the bus again & drove to the lower part of the Vesuvio and hiked all the way up .What an incredible view from that trail. I highly recommend this tour .

Wonderful day trip to Vesuvius and Pompeii - This was a terrific tour! We learned so much history while touring Pompeii--the ancient city is a marvel. Our main guide, Marcella, was fabulous. Our guide at Pompeii was a bit hard to understand at times (because of his accent), but he was extremely knowledgeable, and did a great job of getting us through the crowds (especially when other guides lingered too long ahead of us). We had great fun hiking to the top of Vesuvius, and lunch at the lovely winery provided a nice respite.

Decent tour to cover Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius - Fun, informative tour. Started with a bus pickup in Sorrento followed by a 45 minute ride to Pompeii. First stop was a tour of a cameo factory which was interesting but the best part was the free toilets. The walking tour of Pompeii hit the highlights and lasted nearly 2 hours. Afterward, we sat around for about 45 minutes to chill and refresh. Next we went to a winery for lunch but we were not impressed with the wine or the food. The 3 types of wine served were not very good and were not explained. The 3 course lunch was bland and not tasty. We waited long periods between servings. The next stop was the end of the road to climb Mt. Vesuvius, which was the highlight of the entire tour. While it was a fairly steep climb, it was worth it for the view and impressive crater. On the way back to Sorrento, we stopped at a roadside place to see Peter who gave us limoncello, pistachio and rum shots and chocolate samples. It was the 2nd highlight of the trip. The entire trip took all day from 8am to 6pm.

Excellent except for the vineyard. - Trip to Pompei in heavy rain was great. The driver, Michaele was awesome. So was Paola, our trip organizer and Raffaele, our Pompei tour guide. What was not good was the vineyard or the lunch. No tour of the vineyard or discussion of how the wine is made and what is unique about it (slopes of Vesuvius, ancient recipes). While I have always felt that you can’t get a bad meal in Italy, this was the exception. Store bought, watery pasta. Even I could make better pasta. Either improve this part of the tour or eliminate it.

Bucket list visit for me. A full & enjoyable day. - Whilst we enjoyed our visit, we were a little disappointed with the sites we were taken to. We had friends who were there the same day & they saw much more of the mummifications, artifacts & a dig in progress. I thought that’s what we’d be seeing too. Our guide was very knowledgeable at Pompeii - a bit quick in her commentary. There was no guide at Mt Vesuvius. Lunch was lovely at the winery. The hard sell at the Limoncello store was a bit much - but it tasted delicious!! Also, we paid nearly $250 Australian dollars for the tour & we were pretty amazed that you would ask 1 euro for water! For the price we paid - we thought water should’ve been included!

Mostly great - Pompeii and vesuvius was great. We were lucky it wasn't overly hot, can only imagine how bad the heat is in the summer. The lunch and wine were ok, no one told us anything about the wine we were tasting and the food was ok.

Completely dissatisfied - Overall the tour was poor. Of course Pompeii and Vesuvius were incredible. The lunch at the winery was really mediocre. At the end of the tour we made a stop at a lemoncelli stand that was just a big commercial. Overall, I would highly recommend finding another way to visit Pompeii and Vesuvius!
