As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours riding the waves and exploring the ocean’s depths. But nothing quite prepared me for the vibrant underwater world of Sosua. The day began with a warm welcome at Eric Tours International, where I met our snorkeling guide. The equipment was top-notch, and after a quick briefing, we were off to explore the reefs.

The boat ride to the first snorkeling spot, Three Rocks, was a thrill in itself. The sun danced on the water’s surface, and the anticipation of what lay beneath was palpable. As we anchored, I slipped into the warm, crystal-clear waters, and was immediately greeted by a kaleidoscope of marine life. Schools of colorful fish darted around the coral, and I felt a deep sense of connection with the ocean, a feeling that never gets old.

After the snorkeling adventure, it was time to unwind on Sosua Beach. With a sun chair provided, I settled in to soak up the sun and enjoy the stunning scenery. The beach was a lively hub of activity, with shops, bars, and restaurants lining the shore. It was the perfect place to relax, reflect on the day’s adventures, and indulge in some local cuisine.

As I watched the waves gently lap the shore, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experience. The only regret was not being able to personally thank the snorkel guide and boat captain, who had to rush off to their next tour. Their dedication and passion were evident, and I hope they know how much they were appreciated.
