Fantastic Experience - Highly Recommend - Jozet (Tour Guide Host) and Richie (Driver) provided an exceptional private tour experience. They were both very friendly, personable and knowledgeable sharing lots of information about the island. Jozet had great recommendations regarding what to do that aligned with our interests and provided a lot of flexibility. The vehicle was very spacious and clean as well. I would highly recommend.

Turned an annoying hotel transfer into a day to remember - We had booked a split stay with two hotels on opposite sides of the Island. Booking this private trip allowed us to take a very annoying transfer (and a mostly wasted transfer day) and turn it into a highlight from our trip. We were able to make numerous stops along the way, including the mud baths, waterfall, and viewpoint, get souvenirs from local vendors, and see so many different parts of the island.

Fantastic day out - Booked this trip a couple of weeks before we travelled, the contact with Nio Rose was fantastic and gave us loads of information of what we could include in our day. The day started with a trip down to Soufriere, stopping at a wood carving shop(beautiful carvings but need a very large suitcase and bank balance to buy the larger items), a chocolate factory (very yum and the scented candles are gorgeous) and various view points. We then did the Tet Paul Nature Trail, our guide was so knowledgeable and took so many fantastic photos of us with The Pitons in the background. Really easy trail and the views were stunning. Next we visited the mud baths, absolutely lovely and skin felt amazing afterwards. I would recommend wearing old swim wear as the smell of the sulphur does linger. The mud was washed off in a visit to one of the local waterfalls. After this we visited the botanical gardens, which were beautiful and included the diamond waterfalls. Then it was off to lunch with the most stunning views of Petite Piton and Soufriere. It was a buffet lunch but delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, and would highly recommend

Amazing experience - Absolutely great day! She has made our Christmas. We didn’t feel rushed, she gave us space when needed. We appreciated the last minute availability and everything this lovely lady has done for us, we are very grateful to have met her. We would certainly recommend her to anyone who would like a tour of St Lucia. Thank you for your time xx

Great first time on the island of St. Lucia - We had a great time talking to Naomi I believe is her name. She was the one talking to me and giving me advice for my tour and some things none related. The experience went well. Had the pleasure of riding with Josie and Daniel. Then Quan, or Jean claude who took over. Then returned us to Josie. We found that St. lucians as a whole are very kind helpful and friendly people. And caring. I recommend this company whole heartedly. Try tours with them. They can take you to fish Fridays as well as other tours across the island. The strive to know your name and ask about you.

Somewhat flexible tour - The standard itinerary listed during booking wasn’t able to be followed, unfortunately and wasn’t as flexible as advertised. That being said we did enjoy the stops we selected.

Inexplicably Inadequate - It was clear that something wasn’t right as soon as we met our assigned guide. Unlike all the other tour companies we engaged on our Caribbean odyssey, she was not wearing any tour company branding or lanyard id testifying to her guiding credentials; she didn’t introduce us to the driver and didn’t have any bottled water on board. Despite an extensive exchange of messages with the company boss 10 days before the tour, it was clear that she hadn’t been briefed that we had asked to be taken directly to Soufriere and to discuss our return stops when we had completed the Tet Paul Trail. As we set off on our 50 minute journey, her complete silence until we came within sight of the Pitons confirmed conclusively that whatever services she was there to provide, commentary on the history, culture and nature of St Lucia was not going to feature much. For most of the journey, she was either checking her phone or using selfie-mode to check her hair. When words were eventually uttered, they were to recite what sounded like the opening paragraph of the respective Wikipedia entry. Needless to say, we sailed by several places en route which would have offered great photo opportunities and which any experienced guide would have suggested for a quick stop. During the course of our Tet Paul walk, the affable trail guide happened to mention his age which prompted our ‘guide’ to reveal she was, in fact, just 19. At that point we realised the problem wasn’t so much a lack of professionalism rather a profound lack of experience and knowledge. Whilst she was, for the most part, sociable and capable of responding with revealing answers to questions put by us on topics such as the creole language or St Lucian culture, her repeated retort that places such as Soufriere, the Botanic Garden or Anse La Raye were not worth spending time in demonstrated that she simply didn’t understand what interests tourists. We suggested we find somewhere to get a snack in Soufriere but she put effort only into getting something for herself in the supermarket and we went without until a local offered us some lobster legs to munch. We got the distinct impression that her main imperative was to get back to Castries as quickly as possible. Back in Castries, our guide had nothing to say about the beautiful Basilica and just trailed silently behind us in the market when she could have pointed out the foods and crafts that revealed something about her country. All told, this tour felt less like a professional package of tourist services than an overpriced taxi from A to B and back with a companion thrown in, something we could have organised ourselves on the ground for half the price and far less disappointment. We don’t doubt that the guide did the job to the best of her abilities and understanding of what was expected. The fault lies with Lucian Explora for setting her up for failure and assuming we would accept such a sub-standard experience without recording a detailed account to warn others not to make the same mistake as us.
