Great Visit - Our travel guide was great and very knowledgeable. She showed us around the lovely property. We learn about the many plants and herbs and how they are used. We fed a donkey and learned about chocolate and coconuts. We even got to drink water and taste a freshly cut coconut. We also took some nice pictures.

Great experience, great value for money! - We went on the historical tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Jonathan was our guide around the traditional Carib village, herb and spice garden, cocoa bean processing, coconut harvesting and more. We were treated to fresh mangoes and coconuts picked especially for us and prepared by Terry. It was great value for money, around $11 (USD). We went in the morning and felt like we had the estate to ourselves and as we were leaving around 1PM large coaches of visitors from cruises/organised tours arrived so we would recommend going in the morning if you want a more private/peaceful tour. Definitely worth doing especially if you want some island history or if you're going to the nearby mud baths and waterfall. It's also nearby to Hotel Chocolat/Project Chocolat so is a good (and much cheaper!) alternative for seeing how raw cocoa beans are processed into a form ready for making chocolate. It's a good precursor to the bean to bar experience. Definitely worth the trip if you have a car to travel there.

Nice and easy tour near Soufriere - Had a very informative tour of the estate with Jonathan our guide. Coconut tasting was great with Terry. Highly recommended and very reasonable price for the tour (approx £10 per person)

A lovely informative tour - For this tour, I was paired with Vinia, who was s1uch a lovely person to talk with. She knew her history and had me sample a lot of tasty treats : sugar cane, tamarind, cocoa beans, cocoa nips, coconut and even marshmallow coconut ! I got to understand how people lived, to learn about a bunch of different trees, plants and flowers grown locally, and to view live demonstrations - whether it was the famous Coco Rina dance or the dehusking coconuts. I highly recommend this tour to anyone curious about learning more about St-Lucia while expanding their taste buds.

Never too old to learn. - An impressive demo of the processing of cocoa beans and the method of getting to the edible parts of coconuts. I was surprised how labour intensive these activities demand. The demos were expertly shared by one of the dryest, throwaway humerist Andrew and his energetic and able machete wielding sidekick. A good pair of stout lads to demonstrate the donkey driven grinding mill too! The replica Carib village was worth exploring. Finished with a Creole buffet lunch.

Highlight of our trip - We visited the estate as part of our island tour from a cruise. Our guide pointed out native plants and we got to drink coconut water straight out of the coconut. They even let us try raw cocoa bean which taste nothing like you’d expect, before watching how the cocoa is processed. This is an unique experience to be sure! I highly recommend it if you’re visiting St. Lucia!

Nice tour with a Caribbean Lunch - Our tour by catamaran from the Viking Sea, included a tour and Caribbean lunch at this 18th century estate and botanical garden. They had a demonstration of how they open coconuts and the guy that was doing it was a pro who made a difficult task look simple.

Good estate tour - excellent rum tasting - Went here on our last day on the island more as something to fill the time rather than anything else. I had looked up their tours online so I knew what we wanted to do: a basic tour of the estate coupled with the rum and chocolate tasting. In total for 2 adults we paid $72 which was quite expensive but I would say the rum tasting was quite generous. Dalton was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about various plants/ cocoa making etc. Seeing what to do with a harvested coconut was very interesting. The tour took about 30 minutes and we were the only couple on it. I would say this is an activity which you can do spontaneously and don't need to book. After the tour we sat down with another couple to do the rum and chocolate tasting. My husband doesn't drink alcohol so you can pay a lower amount just for the chocolate tasting. For the rum tasting, we tried 12 different rum 'drinks'. I don't particularly like rum but the first 6 drinks were all rum liqueurs which were lovely. They were served in shot glasses and I would say each sample was appr 2cm deep, so a good sized sample. Towards the end we got to the proper rums finishing off with one at 80%proof (which none of the group fancied 😀). For the chocolate tasting there were 4 different sorts of dark chocolate, all of which tasted lovely and were served in between different rums. As a quick activity in the morning I would recommend it. The place is right on the main highway out of Soufriere and very easy to find. We drove from here to the Toraille waterfall which made for a nice morning's activity.

interesting - This was part of our booked cruise excursion. A tour guide took us around the gardens and buildings. There were several demonstrations and tastings. When we were done with the guided tour we were offered lunch, we found the food to our liking. Remember, what one person finds yummy, another person finds yucky. After lunch there was time to do some souvenir shopping. If we had been here on our own, we would have spent more time walking around. There are a lot of things to see.

Lovely place--however tour not so much. - The grounds are beautiful--unfortunately our tour guide was an older teen who seemed really bored and was reciting from a script in his head. Would have preferred a "this is what it was like to live on the estate type of tour." I would love to come back another time and try the zip line because the grounds are lovely. The gift shop is very nice and many on the tour made purchases. Would have preferred skipping the snack in the pavilion and heading back to our transportation early. Restrooms were available and clean.
