Fabulous Mawande made all the difference to what was an incredible 2 days ! - Just arrived back in Cape Town after an amazing 2 day safari, staying overnight at The Garden Route game lodge.
Our tour guide and driver Mawande was absolutely brilliant, so incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, politics, wildlife and nature - this made our trip even more enriching and if you’re lucky to have Mawande when you book your tour then lucky you!!
The itinerary was well crafted and included some interesting stops on both legs of the journey. We were blown away by the accommodation and the overall standard of facilities at the lodge. The food and service was excellent and the staff extremely attentive.
Our two safari drives were very enjoyable, something we’ve not done before and we got to see a great variety of animals. We had Dane as our safari ranger for the drives and he was very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions.
Yes the drive to and from Cape Town is long but with the various stops and friendship amongst our group made it manageable.

The perfect, most magical 2 day Safari!! - Incredible experience from start to finish!! Something we will never forget. Chris was our tour guide, and from the very beginning he created the perfect trip, educating us about South African culture and stopping of on route to the the Garden Game Resort at some fabulous farm shops & cafes to keep us going till we got there. The journey itself was so lovely, going through gorgeous towns & it was great to hear the history on them too! Once we arrived, everything happened like clockwork, the staff at the resort are so efficient. The sunset safari was honestly everything we dreamed off! From two cheeky elephants playing close by, to zebras, cheetahs, with a gorgeous stop off to admire the views and have a glass of wine! Our safari guide was Sunay ( I hope that’s how her name is spelt) and was amazing. She was so well educated on the animals; and you could really see she loved them all- so passionate about them! We have a perfect dinner in the diner that evening, watched African dancing with a bonfire to warm up after the safari too! We got a perfects nights sleep in our quiet and peaceful hut. The following day was just as magical, seeing lions and much more. On route back to Cape Town we went to visit the penguins at the Betty’s Bay- they were so cute!! Couldn’t recommended more, I hope the reviews helps more people to go along and book. It was amazing! X

Covered so much in an amazing two days! - Our tour guide Chris really made this experience exceptional. He picked us up early the first morning and the three of us were part of a group of nine. A nice comfortable size. On our way to the Garden Route game lodge, we made a stop at Cape Agulhas, which is where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. The views along the way were spectacular. Late afternoon, we arrived at the lodge and had a couple of hours to ourselves before the first safari in the evening. A guide from the lodge was assigned to us and she was also exceptional. She was our guide for the next morning’s safari too. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful our experience was. We saw cheetahs, elephants, white, rhinos, hippopotamus, all kinds of antelope, a pride of lions, Cape Buffalo, wildebeest, and other small mammals and birds. IlOur stay at the lodge was in a lovely little chalet, and it included both dinner and breakfast. The service staff there were wonderful and really made this a special experience. I wish we could’ve stayed an additional day! On the way back, Chris was again an fantastic guide, giving us all kinds of information on our drive back to Cape Town. Along the way we stopped at several scenic points, including a one hour stop at Hermanus for lunch. On our way back to Cape Town, we stopped at Betty’s Bay to hang out with penguins at the Penguin colony, awesome! I am absolutely amazed at how much we covered in our two days days together. If you have a short time in Cape Town and you’re looking to get the best of the countryside as well as wildlife, this is the way to go.

Experience beyond magical. - My girlfriend & I went on the 2 day Garden Route Safari. The experience was excellent, more than what we could have imagined. The stops that we made at various intervals was excellent. The Garden Route game lodge was amazing with excellent service all round. The game drives was brilliant to where we saw most of the big 5 game animals. Last is our driver Vaughn Olsen. He was excellent, very entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about the Garden Route and all the towns we stopped at. We highly recommend this Safari.

Great Safari & Game Lodge - It was a great experience, THANK YOU to Mawande for the great guidance and historical insights that were given to us! The one point deduction is for the route of the trip, the return trip has been a bit drawn, as we drove 3 hours to Cape Agulhas before, which could have been saved (in our view). But the outbound journey, the safari and also the very nice accommodation at Game Lodge were unforgettable!

Fabulous overnight stay seeing the African big 5 - Throughly enjoyed our 2 day overnight safari, our Ranger was very knowledgeable & did very well with his binoculars to find the animals for us.
We had 2 x 2hour outings in our less than 24 hours on site, we were delighted. Even enjoyed our sunset drink, a lovely surprise.
The animals were stunning to see in their happy environment.
We had a really good lunch, service for the staff numbers could be faster, dinner was ok again slow service but we had good company around us. Breakfast was just what we expected, all fresh and very enjoyable.
Our accommodation was really nice and very comfortable.
In the morning we were woken but the birds it was such a lovely “morning alarm”.
The experience was better than we had expected.
Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so very enjoyable.
