What to know before you go
Please remember to bring a copy of your passport on the day of the tour, as this is required by the Robben Island Tour Operator before departure. You will be notified by our office of the pick-up time at your hotel 24 hours in advance of the tour’s departure to Robben Island.

• Robben Island Museum - The Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island offers a 3 to 4-hour experience to see where Nelson Mandela and many other civilians and politicians were incarcerated during the Apartheid regime. Skip the ticket line as this tour includes a pre-booked ticket. Please note that the Robben Island Museum reserves the right to cancel any tour at their discretion. In case of cancellation, you will be entitled to a full refund or an option to reschedule. Your guide-driver will not accompany you to the Island as they have their own guides. You will be on the boat with other people and will receive a full tour from an ex-prisoner. Robben Island—where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years—was a place of isolation for nearly three centuries, housing many political prisoners and serving as both an asylum and leprosy colony. Today, the island remains a tangible symbol of political freedom and a reminder of the difficult road to South African democracy.

• Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - Lunch Stop

• Table Mountain National Park - We will drive to the Cable Car station, where your guide will give you your return ticket. The guide will escort you for a maximum experience. From here, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Cape Town. Table Mountain’s distinctive plateau is the backdrop for iconic Cape Town views, but that’s just the beginning of its namesake national park. Stretching the length of the Cape Peninsula, the UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to hiking trails, diverse flora and fauna, and—of course—South Africa’s most famous coastal and mountain vistas.

• Bo-kaap - After returning from your Robben Island Tour, you can grab a sandwich or light lunch at your own expense at a nearby restaurant. Before arriving at Table Mountain, we will make a 15-minute stop for a photo opportunity in Bo-Kaap (The Colourful Houses).
