Constructed between 1915 and 1922 using convict labour, Chapmans Peak provides a 180-degree sweeping view, making it a sight-seeing haven. It leads into Simons Town, a quaint naval settlement, which houses the Boulders beach penguin colony. After spending some time there, we head over to Cape Point national park for a short hike to the southernmost western point of the African continent.
Our return journey to the city passes through Scarborough and Misty Cliffs, which got its name from the persistent mist that cloaks the small town for the better part of the year.
