It’s Epic mate!! - You have got to be pretty confident to call your tour “Epic Mate” so expectations were high on this one. It is low season in Australia in July, but it is a credit to Dancing Kangaroo that they still run the tour with reduced numbers - not all do. There were 7 of us with our host Sean, who gave us a great intro to the area and the day as we drove out to the Yarra Valley. I also appreciated the 80s playlist. This tour is great value. We visited 3 wineries (Yering Station, Soumah, Helen & Joey, a Willy Wonka chocolate factory (awesome ice cream 🍦) and Four Pillars Gin distillery. As the wine flowed the group bonded and we had a real blast in each others company. We had a very good quality lunch at Soumah, and the full day ended back in downtown Melbourne. The scenery (even with the vines in hibernation) is stunning and all of the wineries very well set up. There is no pressure selling to buy wine (sometimes happens on tours), mind you I bought plenty anyway. Was it an Epic Tour mate? You bet!
