DAY 1: HANOI (ARRIVAL)

Hanoi - Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own pace. Overnight stay in Hanoi.

DAY 2: HANOI → HALONG BAY

Halong Bay - 08:15 – 08:45: Pick up from your hotel or private address by our shuttle bus. A short break will be taken halfway.
11:45 – 12:00: Arrival at Tuan Chau marina, transfer to La Pandora cruises by tender.

12:45 – 13:00: Welcome aboard the cruise with a refreshing welcome drink. Meet the captain and crew during the cruise briefing and safety instructions.

13:00 – 13:15: Enjoy a special lunch featuring Vietnamese cuisine with fresh seafood and a variety of appetizing dishes while sailing through the Islets of Con Vit.

Lan Ha Bay - 16:00: The cruise continues through Lan Ha Bay, surrounded by extraordinary limestone karst landscapes. We will proceed to the Ong Cam Area of Lan Ha Bay, a quieter part of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy kayaking or swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Bay.

Halong Bay - 17:30: Return to La Pandora Cruise and drop anchor for the night. Participate in a cooking demonstration (learn to make Spring rolls) and enjoy the complimentary Sunset Party on the sundeck with local wine and fresh fruit.

19:00: Dinner is served in the restaurant. Savor delicious local food prepared by our onboard catering staff. After dinner, you can retire to your cabin, join a fishing excursion, watch a movie, have a drink at the bar, access wifi, or play exciting games. Overnight on board.

DAY 3: HALONG BAY → HANOI

Halong Bay - 06:00: Witness the sunrise and admire the stunning scenery of the Bay. Participate in a Tai Chi session on the sundeck.
06:30: Light breakfast with coffee and tea.
07:00: Visit Dark & Bright Cave and islets by local rowing boats, a place of wild and mysterious beauty in the World Heritage site.
09:15: Return to La Pandora Cruise and relax before checking out.
10:00: Lunch is served on board.
12:00: Disembark at Tuan Chau marina and take the shuttle bus back to Hanoi.
15:00 – 15:30: Arrive back at your hotel or home.

Hanoi - Free time to explore.

DAY 4: HANOI → HUE

Temple of Literature & National University - Visit the Temple of Literature, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about the history of Vietnam’s first university.

Hanoi - Stroll around the scenic Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the Ngoc Son Temple on an island in the lake. Continue to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to see exhibits showcasing Vietnam’s diverse ethnic groups.

Afterward, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, transfer to your hotel.

DAY 5: HUE → HOI AN

Thien Mu Pagoda - Visit the historic Thiên Mụ Temple in Huế, known for its iconic seven-story Phước Duyên pagoda.

Hue Royal Palace - Continue to the Citadel & Hue Royal Antiques Museum. Visit Dong Ba Market and have lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Tomb of Minh Mang - After lunch, visit the tombs of King Minh Mang and King Khai Dinh. Visit a nearby village where locals make incense sticks and conical hats. Transfer to Hoi An.

DAY 6: HOI AN (VISIT MY SON SANCTUARY)

My Son Sanctuary - After breakfast at the hotel, visit My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

In the afternoon, explore Hoi An town on foot, including Hoi An’s Colorful Local Market, Old House of Tan Ky, Fu Jian Assembly Hall, and the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge.

DAY 7: HOI AN (LEISURE)

Hoi An - Breakfast at the hotel.

Enjoy your leisure time walking around the Old Town for shopping and relaxation.

Day 8: HOI AN → HO CHI MINH

Ho Chi Minh City - Breakfast at the hotel. Spend some leisure time before being transferred to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city.

DAY 9: HO CHI MINH (VISIT CU CHI)

Cu Chi Tunnels - In the morning, visit the Re-Unification Palace, the former residence and workplace of the president of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, a beautiful example of French colonial architecture, and learn about its history. Continue to the War Remnants Museum for a thought-provoking look at the Vietnam War.

In the afternoon, drive 60km to Cu Chi to explore the intricate tunnel system. Enjoy tea and cassava (guerrilla food during the war). Return to the city.

DAY 10: HO CHI MINH → MEKONG DELTA

Mekong Delta - After breakfast, depart for Ben Tre. Take a boat trip along the Mekong River, visit a family-run business, and stroll through a fruit plantation village.

DAY 11: MEKONG DELTA → CHAU DOC

Cai Rang Floating Market - At 6:30 am, visit the Cai Rang floating market, a bustling wholesale market for fruits and vegetables. Cruise through small channels and visit a rice noodle-making village. Experience the “Monkey Bridge” in the Delta.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Chau Doc.

Chau Doc - Châu Đốc is a city in An Giang Province, bordering Cambodia, in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam.

DAY 12: CHAU DOC → PHNOM PENH

Phnom Penh - Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Take a speed boat from Chau Doc, Vietnam to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Arrive at Sisowath tourist quay in Phnom Penh around 2:00 pm.

The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city.

DAY 13: PHNOM PENH → SIEM REAP

Phnom Penh - In the morning, visit the Royal Palace and its Silver Pagoda. You can also explore the Khmer Rouge Killing Field and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or visit Wat Phnom, depending on your preference.

In the afternoon, travel to Siem Reap.

Royal Palace - The Royal Palace, with its classic Khmer roofs and ornate gilding, is a striking structure near the riverfront. It is the official residence of King Sihamoni, with parts of the palace compound open to the public. Visitors must wear appropriate clothing.

Silver Pagoda - Located on the south side of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is also known as Wat Preah Keo.

DAY 14: SIEM REAP [EXPLORE THE ANGKOR]

Angkor Thom - In the morning, visit Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. Continue to Ta Prohm, a stunning temple complex with trees growing through its structures. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Ta Prohm - Ta Prohm is a temple near Siem Reap, built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries.

Angkor Wat - In the afternoon, visit Angkor Wat, the most famous temple in Angkor. In the evening, enjoy a buffet dinner and watch a Khmer Traditional Dance Show at a local restaurant.

DAY 15: SIEM REAP [EXPLORE KOH KER]

Siem Reap - Depart at 8:00 am for Koh Ker, a 1.5-hour drive. Explore the deserted ruins and surrounding forest of the Koh Ker temple complex, the former capital of the Angkorian empire.

Koh Ker Temple - Koh Ker is a 10th-century temple complex in the Cambodian jungle.

Prasat Neang Khmau - On the way back to Siem Reap, stop at Prasat Neang Khmaw and Prasat Pram. Lunch at a local restaurant near Beng Mealea temple.

Beng Mealea - Visit Beng Mealea temple, an overgrown temple in the dense jungle. Continue to Banteay Srey, the “gem” of the Angkor area.

DAY 16: SIEM REAP → BANGKOK

National Museum of Cambodia - Visit the National Museum at 7:30 am. It is Cambodia’s largest museum of cultural history.

Tonle Sap Lake - Tonlé Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Bangkok - In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bangkok (16:55-18:55).

DAY 17: BANGKOK

Bangkok - At 6:15 am, leave Bangkok for Ratchaburi. Take a boat trip to Damnoen Saduak floating market. Visit the local life and handicraft home industry. Transfer to Kwai River and visit Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi. Return to Bangkok at 5:00 pm.

Ratchaburi - Ratchaburi is a province in central Thailand known for the Damnoen Saduak floating market.

Damnoen Saduak - Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is a famous tourist attraction in Ratchaburi province.

DAY 18: BANGKOK

Ayutthaya - At 6:30 am, leave Bangkok for Ayutthaya. Visit the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and Wat Maha That. Continue to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the largest and most important temple.

At 12:30 pm, embark on a cruise, enjoy a buffet lunch on board, and cruise back to Bangkok.

Bang Pa-in - Bang Pa-In Royal Palace is a palace complex beside the Chao Phraya River.

Wat Mahathat - Wat Mahathat is one of Ayutthaya’s oldest temples.

DAY 19: BANGKOK → CHIANG MAI

Bangkok - In the morning, visit famous temples in Bangkok, including Wat Traimit (The Golden Buddha Temple) and Wat Pho. The last visit is Wat Benjabophit. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit) - The Golden Buddha is a gold statue located in Wat Traimit, Bangkok.

Chiang Mai - In the afternoon, fly to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and spend your time at leisure.

DAY 20: CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai - At 8:00 am, head to Doi Inthanon National Park, which includes Thailand’s tallest mountain. Explore the modern Chedis of the King and Queen and visit the Karen hill tribe village.

After lunch, visit the Vachiritharn and Siritharn Waterfalls. Then, head to the flower garden at the Royal Project Research Station. Return to the hotel.

Doi Inthanon National Park - Doi Inthanon is a national park in Northern Thailand, known for its temple complex atop the highest mountain.

Wachirathan Falls - A beautiful spot for photos and appreciating Thailand’s natural beauty.

DAY 21: CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai - At 7:00 am, leave Chiang Mai for Lampang. Visit Wat Prathat Lampang Luang. Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, explore the old streets of Lampang and visit Kad Kong Ta Street Market. Then, visit Wat Pra That Hariphunchai, the most celebrated temple in Lamphun province. Return to Chiang Mai.

Lampang - Lampang is the third-largest city in northern Thailand and a trading and transportation center.

Wat Phra That Lampang Luang - A 13th-century Buddhist compound in Northern Thai Lanna style.

Wat Phra That Hariphunchai - A Buddhist temple in Lamphun, Thailand, dating from the 11th century.

DAY 22: CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai - At 7:00 am, visit Mae Khachan hot springs, Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), and Chiang Saen. Proceed to the Golden Triangle area of Northern Thailand.

After lunch, visit Wat Phrathat Pukhao. Return to Chiang Mai, stopping to visit Akha and Yao hill tribe villages.

Mae Khachan Hot Spring - A popular stop for travelers between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

Wat Rong Khun - Also known as the White Temple, a recognizable temple in Chiang Rai Province.

Golden Triangle - The area where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet, known for its historical significance in drug trafficking.

Wat Pra That Pukhao - Offers the best viewpoint of the Mekong junction of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.

DAY 23: CHIANG MAI (DEPARTURE)

Chiang Mai - After breakfast, spend your leisure time in Chiang Mai until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Wonderful Southeast Asia - We booked a tour through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, and we were impressed by Mr Tran's responsiveness in helping us plan our trip. Despite being a busy and full itinerary, everything ran like clockwork, from pick-ups to tours. The guides were excellent as well. We couldn't fine any faults and would definitely book with Authentic Adventures Vietnam.

Best trip ever!!! - 23-day tour! This was an amazing trip. The Hoi An region was the highlight of our whole trip and Mr Tran made it so easy. Jack and the drivers made it so so fun and easy. A highlight was when one of the driver who lived nearby took us to visit his family home on the tour.

A great adventure - Our fantastic trip was organized by Mr. Tran Son, who customized our itinerary and dates to include the locations and experiences we desired, while also offering valuable advice when our ideas needed adjustment. Communication before and during the trip was superb, and all logistics were seamlessly handled. The guides and drivers were excellent, with a few being absolute superstars—special shoutouts to them.
